To troll is to post incendiary opinions and comments, for the purpose of getting angry reactions and provoking people into arguments and creating general mayhem. To troll is to provoke people maliciously, for your own amusement...and I'm fairly certain that Orlando police are not out there inciting online-rage in the myspace community so that they can have a good laugh about it, hence I'm assuming you simply don't know what the word means.

It's so comforting to know that while places of business are being cased, houses are being broken into, cars are being vandalized, and gangs are growing.....that we've got cops sifting through profiles on Craigslist looking for hookers.....that cops are perusing through Myspace, trying to find kids bragging about doing weed......

I feel so much safer now.

A honest cop can not work in a corrupt police department and stay honest very long. OPD and OCSD are very crooked. Here's how it work. If there are 3 or 4 cops together and one crooked cops commits a crime the others will join in and also file false police reports to back this sc*m bag. Folks don't be stupid and ever trust a cop in Orange County. or really any where in the USA! I'm 62 and have a police record and never committed the crime. 3 Orange County deputies at Walt Disney World committed the crime against my wife and I but you have very little chance to defend yourself. Disney will protect their criminals. 6 Months before this attack ny neighbor a OPD cop made abogus domestic violence call to our home in Dr. Phillips. This coward also got a injunction against me and never came to Court? But on my record on the Orange County websight in Repeat Violence?? What? Folks if you have ever had a problem with a cop in Orange County Florida get your papers from FDLE. Read recently that around 30,000 state and local police are scouting the web for, mostly, sex crimes.

Thank God the MBI is out there "protecting" us by arresting men and women for having sex, er, I mean, paying for sex. After all, we have our puritanical standards to uphold. On another note, when are they going to arrest the sheriff for all of his shenanigans?

It's probably not an either/or situation - police departments are increasingly using officers with specialized skills. It's not just about patrolling and responding to calls any longer. With the technology, the societal underbelly has found new ways to commit crimes.
They are also looking for pedophiles and child pornographers with good results. I don't believe it's a waste of tax money - the results are encouraging. As for prostitution, AIDS cases are rising in the South and this is one way to track some of the sources.
Just my humble opinion...

The idea of cops "patrolling" the Internet is a frightening prospect. The government tries to wrap its fingers around any instrument of free expression that they have no right to control. It curtails free speech and the free exchange of ideas.

I couldn't care less if a prostitute places an ad on Craig's List - who does it harm? NO ONE!!! But when you have cops wasting limited resources getting massages and meeting prostitutes, it is the height of hypocrisy. If they claim to "enforce all laws", I don't see them enforcing laws against cohabitation or adultery, do you?

Cops need to keep their filthy hands off the internet and go do some real police work - like preventing murders and robberies and solving real crimes that have VICTIMS - not consenting adults.

And FYI - I am a citizen who believes in the US Constitution and I embrace all of my rights as an American. Cops that participate in activities like entrapment and intimidation are fascists in my book.

Leave the girls on Craigs list alone you morons. They provide a service to people like any other service. These antiquated laws on prositution are one reason their are so many pervs and sickos out there. If someone wants to pay for some fun, so what? Who cares? People getting kiiled all over the place and they are aresting hookers....nice work.

Did you ever consider that maybe they're not the only people on the force? It's not as if the murder investigators are the ones looking for prostitutes.

By the way, drugs and prostitution often are crimes that involve those who commit other crimes. If you find a kid who smokes pot, you just might find his dealer and possibly an entire criminal enterprise led by a gang and possibly headed by someone under investigation for murder.

These things really only take a few seconds to ponder.

Since prostitution seems fine with everyone, I'm sure you'd all be fine if a half-dozen prostitutes worked and lived in your neighborhoods. I'd be a fun thing to talk about with the kids!

I think it is a good thing that the police are looking at the internet and getting molesters and other law breakers. I say if you are a law abiding citizen then there is no reason to be mad the police are looking at anything you post.

I think we can assume that you don't have children. Otherwise, you'd be much more considered about drug dealers and child predators.

Also, you might be showing your age. Probably 80 percent of the working public is computer-literate. Computers aren't just for nerds these days. They're for everyone. The FBI uses them, and I don't think it's easy to land a job at Quantico without some serious education.

By the way, the state doesn't pay the salaries of most city and county police officers. Those are paid through property taxes. As for how the state has squandered its tax revenue, I think that's probably a subject for another day.

In case you didn't know it, prostitutes peddle their services on every single porn site there is. Nearly every week, MBI agents arrest prostitutes who advertise their services online, but that doesn't stop them. Even after being arrested, many of the escorts continue to post ads. You numb nuts. You cannot possibly stop the worlds oldest profession. Way too much easy money for sex. You will never stop it. There are thousands to replace the few you bust for awhile. I'm suprised the Democrats haven't legalized it so they can tax the snot out of it and collect even more of our hard earned dollars for wasteful spending. Forget about the hookers, go after the killers and thieves.
