a foreign co. owns electrolux, wasn't happy with good profits from the huge plant in grnvle (there for 100yrs) and took the whole thing overseas, the same as Bosch, and many others, on and on. Now a belgian co. bought anheuzer-busch, same o, same o.- 48% of the beer market share. it's a travesty that this has gone on, helping to ruin our economy, and mfg. in this country, and then there's the oil debacle, and 100's of billions that we don't have for the war effort, with help fom nobody of course, and no reimbursement of course. this has all got to change, any idiot can see that, can you?

Any new jobs news is good news. You can't do anything about the companies that are gone, you can only focus on what's coming. Good news for Greenville.

I definitely agree RAB! I'm actually relieved that Electrolux is gone. I worked there for several years and I probably would have never gotten out had they not moved. I'm so happy that I finished up schooling and got a MUCH better job now! I know a few others are struggling with finding jobs still, but I also know how picky some of them are. It will take a bit to find a job...you just have to stay motivated and be willing to drive a little bit. It'll come to them eventually =) Hooray that we are getting 150 new jobs in Greenville AND about 50+ new jobs in Lowell! Hopefully the economy will pick back up again =)

Northland Corporation, formerly Fedders, formerly Ranney Refridgeration, has been in Greenville since the late 1800's. It is great for them to have pride in the community and confidence in the workforce to place their committment in the town they call 'home'. I worked for them for several years and I wish them all the best fortune this move will bring to them. Congrats to Frank, Craig, Kent, Brad and all the others for a job well done.

This is good news.
Who will fill the jobs? Locals or transfers?
The ultimate question however is whether the workers who are losing their jobs elsewhere in this state are qulaified to fill these positions?

Marvel Industries is closing its doors in Richmond Indiana. I understand that they are asking some of the workforce if they would relocate. Don't think to many people are going. Most jobs will be filled with locals. It's a shame to see another company closing its doors in Richmond area but, at least there not moving it south of the border!

I have worked at Northland for several years and when the buy out came up back a few years ago we where all afraid for our jobs like gibson people. Yes the buy out is good and the combining of several companies. All the new jobs of about 100 people for greenville. But I see this been like gibson aka Electrolox they are staring to treat the employees like @#&$^@&@ but it is a job and a new plant the old one is scarry to work in. But I don't think they will be here for ever when the tax breaks are done they will be gone too. Best wishes to all

The transfer of jobs from Marvel to Northland are very limitted I know of about three people coming up here and that is it.
