so, from you headline it seems you're saying the cop was justified in murdering him because of his past. did the cop know about his past when he killed him? looks to me like the young man was target practice. from what i've read in your paper, his past had no violence. he was sick. he was a drunk. he was probably obnoxious and belligerent. the cop made a bad decision he now has to live with the rest of his life and i'm sure in his head he'll rationalize what he did as the right thing. no matter how all this comes out, this officer will have to answer to a higher power and make things right.

Did you read the same article I read? You state "his past had no violence". Yet the article states that court records show he was arrested repeatedly for "attempted robbery, assault, dometic battery, etc." It goes on to state that he threatened to beat up a juvenile and kicked the window out of a squad car. How much violent history do you need?
It appears that we have a very troubled person who decided to commit suicide by creating a situation in which a reasonable person (police officer or otherwise) would have feared for his/her life. |

I live in Rockford moved here 6 years ago (job)..It is a awful place very neo-conservitive...The people are suspicious and do not like outsiders school system suffering because of racism lawsuits...
