At least three temporary correctional officers at the state prison in Springfield say they were denied promotions to permanent jobs because of their pending deployment to Afghanistan with the Vermont National Guard.

It's unfortunate that there are alot of businesses that "make up" reasons to fire these brave men and women who leave the comfort of their homes and the loving arms of their families so they can go fight to keep the homelands of our country free from terrorism and anti-american invaders. This is not the first I have heard this and Iam sure it won't be the last. They should be ashamed of themselves and if this is found to be true they should be made to pay these men dble their saleries.

I think all veterans need to quite complaining and thinking the world owes you a living just because you fought in iraq or afganistan or wherever, you young people cry like babys a lot, all our young people think the world owes them a living, not just veterans... they are all lazy.
buck up and man up..you're not the ONLY ones who are war veterans, stfu and get on with life and stop yer' cryin. pull yer'self toGETHER MAN!!!
