My kids wake up and spend the day with me at home. My two yr old is already picking out letter's and can spell some words. Because I am home teaching her and her sister.
Why have kids if you are going to drop them off to be raised by some indifferent, unhappy, teen or young adult at a daycare center? The teachers aren't educated, you make nothing so just about anyone can get a job there. And those people are basically raising your kids. And they wonder why kids today are so out of control and bad. Because no one is raising them. They are warehoused. |

I wish I could stay home. We recently moved to Rochester. I have gone to tour daycare sites. I went to everyone mentioned here.
The Kindercare in Webster is new so it's nice. Not sure about the help. They all seem to have very young girls. I'd prefer older woman. Ones who have actually raised a child. I went to Doodle bug's in Webster as well. And since we live in Penfield/ Webster Border we checked out the KC Penfield location. It is in need of painting, I looked at toys etc, not impressed. and I paid attention to the staff. In the end we decided to go with Doodle Bug's. The children seemed busy with lot's to do. It sparkles and it seemed more proffessionally run. We don't want to be milked for money for staff increases to find it's not even going to the staff. And $285.00 is just way too much. So that ended it there as to our decision. If we find we are not satisfied we will go private and get a nanny to come to our home. For about $50.00 more we can let our little one sleep in and not even have to take her out of her own environment. |

This just made up my mind for me. I'm getting someone to come to the house. Why even take my child out in the bad weather and all. For the same price i can get a nanny.

to your dumb comment about pay..you should try and work in a daycare and deal with peoples kids. i did for four yrs and i loved the kids, but the pay sucked. we would be lucky to get .10 or .15 cents. for anyone starting out a career in childcare don't expect to get paid much. the only ones that do are the ones with degrees. |

I have a CDA and quit the business all together. Even with that degree you won't make much more than minimum wage. And you'll still have the zillions of problems that go with this field. I am back in school getting a real degree now.
MrBobF, Why are you reading these posts if you are not interested? No one said you had to click on this page dear. |

You know what really sucks about this place? They don't recycle. Everything is thrown into the dumpter, Can's, bottles, paper, cardboard, glass bottles, plastic toys. NOTHING IS RECYCLED THERE. GO GREEN KINDERCARE! SAVE THE PLANET AND TEACH THE KIDS TO DO THE SAME!

We have a nanny and I can't recommend it highly enough. We pay $300.00 a week. We have two little ones. It's wonderful to let them wake up in their own beds, play in their own environment. My children rarely get sick. And we have more time in the mornings and getting home not having to run to the centers to pick up and drop off. We have a wonderful woman who even picks up my house and does laundry. The kids love her and so do we!

I just can't see how you could turn your precious baby over to some stranger at a daycare center. Someone you know nothing about.
I'd rather go without a fancy house, TV, car and raise my own child. My friend's child goes to a center and that kid is sick nonstop. No thank you |

This is an issue that easily could be solved by the employees. Stand up for your rights. That's all you have to do. Or vacate. Doesn't sound like a worthwhile co to begin with. Why would you stay?

This is not a nice story but I agree, get out and leave or do something to change it. And if I were a parent, I'd speak up too. However I bet most of the parents don't even know.

Here is an idea. How about your forgo the big house, SUV, and stay home to raise your own kids? Maybe this is why they are so out of control these days. No one is raising them.

We started out in a starter home, very small cape in the city and gradually moved up to the house we have in Penfield now. Because of that I was able to raise my own children. They never got sick or bitten or had to be dragged out of bed in the cold winter mornings to be dropped off at some center. But now everyone wants everything now. There is a price to pay for that. Just look at society.

Your kids NEVER got sick OR bitten?
I don't think so... Try posting something that's not loaded with BS... |

mrbobf,
You are a turd, not even a full blown piece of crap, you are a small, dried up, old turd, laying on the street by the gutter. In the inner city by the way, Up by Lyell Ave, That's where you belong. You'd fit in quite well there and probably do. Small, little, insignifigant, nasty, little, dried up, turd. |

I just found this forum. So this an an older thread. but I do not agree with what was done to these employees. It sure was fraudulous. But if you let them get away with this, it will happen over again. The first thing to do is to alert the parents that y ou neer did get a raise anywhere close to the increase. Second, talk to management and threaten to quit. All of you. You could also go to the media. Email their wbsites and pick a reporter who does bits like this. Ask them if they would be interested in this story. Exposing fraudulnet practices, OR even go with the non recycling story. In our green world now that should make an iteresting piece to at least bring a light to this. Good luck
