There are many more issues surrounding the Main and Clinton problem that Maggie is leaving out. The City Council does not want to give up the tax revenue from what everyone is calling the city's most valuable property. They do not want a "box office opens at 8:00PM" sign on the corner. They want, as does MCC, housing as well as tax revenue producing retail. Both the Mayor, and City strongly support my alternate plan for retail and mixed housing on that block. There is no public support for the PAC, and there never has been. It concerns me that Maggie's husband is on the Board of Directors of the RBTL. The RBTL are the ONLY ones that would profit from this horrible idea. Go to norensquare.com for updates.

Madge has opened the door for some real scrutiny with Bobby W, sitting on the board(s), and his full-time second career. Duff, on the other hand is covering his arse very well.

I have NEVER talked with anyone who wants this thing built. Yes, it will create some short term jobs to build it, but then we will have a huge, non tax producing property that will become a very expensive hangout for undesireables. And without a performing arts center,(the only part that may have brought new people downtown,) the taxpayers will once again be left paying the bills.

Ms Brooks, it is not "someone else's money." It is MY money, and every other taxpayer in the state and federal system.

We have wasted enough. Kill this project NOW and work on private developement for this land. As to MCC, I suspect far less state and federal money could completely re-hab an existing building downtown into a beautiful new campus. How about Midtown Tower?

Are the builders of the Ren Square going to use local & Union labor to build and maintain the Ren Square, or are you going to farm all the work out to non-residents therefore sending the monies outside New York and not helping the economy to build a stronger environment here in Rochester

Duffy knows something. Corruption is going to be exposed and Duffy does not want to get left holding the bag on this bloated pig.

Oh sure, now RGRTA is willing to make changes...but haven't they already said they couldn't make changes? So...were they lying then, or are they lying now? In any case, the bus station/MCC Campus and Arts Center will do nothing to revitalize a dead city...it is just another sinkhole in which the taxpayer will lose millions! Thanks Maggie!

I have been commenting in this forum for a while and I am known to be brutally honest. The bottom line is Mr. Bauman owns the property, doesn't need to take funding from schools, doesn't need to do "favors" to the people who elected him. He is a savy and successful business man who is of course in business. My feeling? What's the damn problem? It's his property, His right, and our good fortune. The proposed project plan as I understand it will be a major source of support for the MCC 4000 person participants. Students, faculty, etc.. I don't give a hoot about the GRTA, OR THE COUNTY LEGISLATION. According to Maggies compromise, she'll have 18 months to play with those funds before her attempt to be re elected. BOO YAH. No way. The city is not about to let this joke of a woman railroad us again. PERIOD. Good luck Mr. Bauman and if you need any more noise just ask us.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Sagittarius

You're feeling ultra optimistic today, which is great for summoning up the necessary energy to do what has to be done. But don't let it go to your head and convince you that you're capable of performing miracles. If you aren't behaving in this way you'll have to cope with someone who has a swollen head and thinks they're the cat's whiskers.
