Hi, I'm new to the Rochester area. Me and my husband came up from suburban Baltimore. He took a job at Paetec. I'm taking a job at this lawyer's firm in a couple of weeks. We live in that town call Henrietta. We haven't really done much since we've been up here except go to that Jazz Festival(that was awesome btw) We been here since mid May. Can anyone on this site recommend some places to do? I see there is going to be a rib fest which is a few miles north of where we live, which we plan on attending. Also, I want to know some fabulous local restaurants that we don't have back home. Would be greatly appreciated.*sigh* I'm missing home.

Yeah, There's a place that serves Baltimore Pit Beef, Crab Cakes (both Boardwalk and Restaurant styles), Lady Baltimore Cakes, Berger cookies, Coddies and Slippery Pot Pies.
They also have Crab Utz Chips and Natty Bo to wash it down with.
They carry all the Oriole baseball and Ravens football games too.

Can't wait till Cal Jr. shows up there to eat.

Well for one if you like shopping, Marketplace Mall is in Henrietta. Me personally, I think the mall is a little cramped. I would suggest the Mall at Greece Ridge Center, but that's a little out your vincity. As far as restaurants, if you love a decent burger, you will love Tom Wahls. The best place to get a burger in Rochester. Also, take a drive east on 590 and visit that huge Wegamns in Pittsford. That's the biggest supermarket I've ever seen.

You have to try Rochester's Zwiegle red hot dogs and white hot dogs. You haven't had hot dogs until you had zweigles. Get them from any supermarket

Wow we are just walking down N Clinton past Avendia D, and noticed a tree with an image formed in the bark on it that looks like Jesus, right next to the clothing factory here. I knew this was a special neighborhood.

Personally, I would pack up and leave. You've moved to a county like the Land of OZ. Folks with no courage, no brains and no heart. Vacate ASAP!

You kidding Baltimore has a way higher murder rate than Rochester.
Why do you think they based those TV shows Homicide-Life on the Streets, and The Wire in Baltimore for? Baltimore has a higher percentage of Suspooks than Rochester, that's why their crime is sky high.

1 in every 66 people in Baltimore becomes a victim to a violent crime. With murder rate of .36.

In Rochester it's 1 in every 94. With a murder rate of .19.
You just have a higher chance of rape in Rochester.

Rochester has some nice looking places so far. I'm missing home right now, but the job situation here is better than in Baltimore.

If you live here in Rochester, you should appreciate what you have. You don't know what you have until it's gone or if you leave.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Cancer

The question of who and what you should believe is never far away today. Someone could easily mislead you, although it's a moot point whether they do this intentionally or not. Or there could be a communication glitch that means no one knows what's going on. Be very careful when handling money because there could be lots of silly mistakes, and if you're really unlucky there might also be some double-dealing too.
