New 911 center stumbles at the start

Thats funny I just read an article in my local paper that Mr. Therkelsen said everything was working great and there were no problems. This after people complained that 911 rang for minutes without being answered.. Everything seems to be a software glitch. Seems to me the leaders who purchased this software should have done there homework.

Plant CML is a horrible low bid product

Dakota County needs to bring in Sheriff Bob Fletcher. He's a man who knows everything. I'm sure once he takes over all of Ramsey County, he'll be able to work on Dakota County.

Given these events, Therkelson should consider resigning.

It was his job to make sure that everything ran smoothly...no matter what.

In the same vein, those Dakota County Commissioners who selected the software and company, should not plan on running for re-election.

time tested technolgy? I DON'T THINK SO !!!!

And when someone dies because of one these glitches, will it just be an "oops."

And how much more will the taxpayers be asked to pony up to correct all this?

Can someone please tell me where our highly vaunted County Administrator is in all of this?

For what he is being paid, one would think that he would have been on top of this from the start of the problems.

I guess that these "minor" issues are not worthy enough for his consideration.

Any guesses on how much it will costs us to correct?

Looks like yet another tax hike is coming.

260,000 calls handled in the first six months in a new operation and you think there aren't going to be glitches? Does whatever company you work for have 100% effectiveness at all times? Do any of you know what that place is even like, or do you just read a news story and presume you are an expert?? Plant a low bid piece of junk....the leaders should have done their homeowrk? Perhaps you should have as well. Plant CML IS a well-respected LEADER in the 911 field. As a matter of fact, at least 2 other metro county dispatch centers, Carver and Hennepin both use the system with very few problems.
Quit whining and start supporting for a change!

If this was in the private sector, you would not have have these problems.
But where can you go to complain when the faulty party is a governmental agency?
All you seem to get is excuse after excuse.
Oh, then some somebody who will tell you that the bad service really isn't that bad.
We are lucky that no one lost their life being of these mishaps.
