It's nice to see the students are starting to take charge at Hiawatha High School and doing something about bullies in school. I know when I was going to Hiawatha school it really would bring a student down when there would be other students being bullies and there was no where to turn. I remember wanting to tell teachers but back then the teachers kept their lips closed and turn the other way. Thats sad teachers. Forgive me. I know some of them teachers are not with the school anymore. I thought you were there to help students?!!!!! Sometimes it would cause more trouble and you would be the person in detention for telling. It's really sad to have seen this day in and day out growing up. I wasn't the only one. Some students were treated really BAD. Years have passed and I see a few people I went to school with that were teased. They have no self worth. Hopefully, now that times are changing, every student will have a better chance of success and proceed to a bright future. I know what others were thinking and wandering what I would turn out to be. I did great. I have one teacher to thank. Ithink he was teaching General Math at the High School. I think he now is the pricipal at the grade school. What a wonderful man that always went out of his way to help each student no matter what it was. I an thankful for having a wonderful teacher.

Yes I quite agree with you there regarding bullying still going on no matter what? Its something that will always exist no matter what social status your kids maybe. Prevention programs can tone it down but truth be it will still continue as everything else. This is a good way for kids to get prepared for the real world that not all people are nice. Learning how to handle it now will help them in the long wrong. I am not for bullying but I have taught my children how to handle it and so far it has worked. So let's keep trying to influence the positive and teach kids to get along with everyone if that does not work just avoid them.

I totally agree with "Agree", but when it is happening in front of teachers and kids are becoming withdrawn from it that is not good.
Hiawatha teachers especially at the High School only sees what they want.

I agree with that. I am glad to see "some" of the teachers finally retiring. It's them few that pretended not to see it going on especially D.R.(English teacher)! Is she still alive? I remember when I had to recite a poem and got nervous and screwed up. I was told I could come back in between classes and try again. I did and did perfectly. She game me a D-! Damn her. I will never forget that. That made me feel about an inch tall. That was 15 or so years ago and still feels like yesterday.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Libra

If you live with other people you have to resign yourself to the fact that you all want to do different things today. The more you urge togetherness, the more everyone will be determined under tonight's Full Moon to do their own thing even if it creates problems. Try to play this down as much as possible because it's also a lunar eclipse and getting angry won't solve anything; it may even make the situation worse. Maybe this is a chance for you to do what you want for a change, too? Anyway, enjoy yourself tonight, Libra because you deserve it!
