Do you know how many homeless and poor children could be clothed and fed for $650,000?? How many old, poor people would that help to buy medicine, pay for heat, and maybe one decent meal a day? The Catholic Church has abandoned the teachings of Jesus for the teachings of greed and hate.

No, can you tell us? Perhaps a letter to the Archdiocese, explaining to them how the money could be better spent, would make them rethink over 2000 years of their beliefs. Good luck!

Naw, they'd still pick hate over charity. That 2000 years of wealth and power in deeply ingrained.

Gay mom, you are so right. They want to destroy the idea of basic human rights for ALL, gay or straight, and they refuse to help the least of the least.

It couldn't hurt.

The RCC changed its mind on Galileo, the Jews, saying the Mass in Latin, letting the laity read the Bible, permitting women in the sacristy, the Donation of Constantine and dividing up the New World between Spain and Portugal.

Hmm, Show me an organization, other than Goverment Charities, who have contributed more to the poor, homeless, hungry? And really, "destroying all basic human rights for ALL"? Take Catholic Charities out of St Paul and see how many people go hungry and homeless/shelterless. Nice flaming rehtoric!

Right, But that makes sense, and it easier to spew and post negativity because it makes better press and prolongs the victimhood of their cause.
And, as I have said before, I have no problem with gay marriage, I could care less.

Is it any wonder they are closing so many of their schools?

Their priorities are as screwed up as Newt's moral compass.

<quoted text>
and they did that mostly to boost donations.

But I'm glad you pointed out the many changes the "one true church" has instituted over the years in an effort to maintain their worldly power and influence.

Guess when they choice is money vs. Doctrine, it's pretty obvious which ones they'll eventually cave to.

And if some group spent that amount of money to run ads trying to pass Catholic based Jim Crow laws, the RCC and many Protestants would be screaming religious discrimination.

If you do not like how the church spends its money, then stop giving them money. If you did not give them money, then you really have no place to complain.

If you believe that they make decisions based on hate then you should probably bone up on catholic doctrine. This is an issue of doctrine and dogma for them, not hate.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
