What gives you the right to paint all companies with such a broad brush? In union jobs the best worker in a specific job classification is paid the same as the laziest slacker. In non-union companies, the best workers are paid based on their contribution to the bottom line - as are the worst, if the worst keeps his/her job. Here is one for you...in my company no one is paid based on seniority. Yet not one employee has ever expressed a desire to change it to a seniority based pay structure. Maybe that is because they all know that when the company is prosperous, they share in that prosperity. And they work their asses off to benefit their families. In addition, the employees have been approached a number of times by unions wanting to force a union certification vote. Not once has it ever gone beyond a very casual conversation. Go spew your crapola at the union hall where you will not have people who know better in the audience.

Do you actually think I would want untrained people doing anything on the production floor and then trying to peddle a substandard product? I might as well shut the f*ck*ng doors right now if that is the case because I sure as hell would not have a business next year. Again, you are nothing more than a clueless twit.

That disparity between the U.S. ratio of 263-to-1 and the Japanese ratio of 16-to-1 is obscene enough. Especially to American workers who “are taking home less in real weekly wages than they took home in the 1970s.” But slice-and-dice the numbers and there’s another disquieting fact. For every dollar that American workers make, American CEOs take home $263. Japanese CEOs take home less than one-sixth of that. One-sixth of $263 is $43.83; let’s round that down to $43. The average Japanese worker makes one-sixteenth of that, which is $2.69. In other words, the average Japanese worker makes more than two-and-a-half times what the average American worker makes. And it’s not only American workers who are getting screwed by runaway CEO compensation: In fact, a study released late last year by researchers Raghavendra Rau and Huseyin Gulen of Purdue University and Michael J. Cooper of the University of Utah that surveyed the performance of 1,500 companies between 1994 and 2006 found that “lavish CEO compensation may in fact undermine shareholder wealth.” The researchers concluded that “the 10 percent of companies with the mo

Tell me...why would I ever allow anyone untrained to represent my company in any way? That is just a stupid thing to say. Again, the last thing I want is someone injured because of one of my products. Nor do I want to be associated with anything but the best product possible. Do you think I want a bad reputation with my customers? That is not how one makes money, or provides a future for himself and his employees. What you said is pure garbage. And if it means that I would be on the "exception list" of someone who says things as ignorant as you do, I will wear that exception as a badge of honor.

Sure you care(hah), but OSHA exists for a reason, jerks like you blame the workers, and unions DEMAND apprenticeships, which better prepare folks to learn the job from a craftsman... Oh, and your party hates women... Cain you dig it or is the newt taking too long to arrive ?

Comments from certain individuals on here show the ignorance of those same people. Specifically, little Miss Horse Face. It is no wonder she could not keep a job selling stamps. If she ever had her own name on the line for anything, she would have had her ass sued - and gotten creamed with good reason. Keep up the good work there Horse Face.

Dear Mr. Irish, I notice you are being stalked by the Seattle Virus. I also notice you haven't joined my boycott of Topix on Wednesday. I would like to extend an invitation to join us to completely ignore Topix this Wed. POWER TO THE PEOPLE! LOL

Republicans seem to have a tougher responsible work cut out for them. Democrats play..go golfing, shopping and traveling. Would you believe Pres.O's recent promise that he wants the middle class to have tax cuts but the republicans don't. where are the liberal media police?

You sound like some Walkerite Republican with hate for anyone who could make middle class. You must be rich or believing you are. No, public union worker, your corrupt alliance with your democrat lackeys is ending. You WILL get salary/benefit cuts if for no other reason than it is not sustainable. Your greed and gaming the system by many of your colleagues (double dip salaries, padding pensions, seniority protection) is wrong is finally being addressed. You can blame your own greedy co-workers and the unions.

Unions spend time training members hos to do the job safely. Non union shops have employees who want to get ahead by stepping on the guy next to them. They have no interest in seeing that that person learns the job as well or better than they do. Jobs are put out to the union and any can apply, but senority makes a big difference. the more senior the better trained. It matters little if its a woman, and black man, an Irish, a German or Mexican. They must abide by the union rules. If the bosses son want to work the line, he has to join the union as well, dad is not going to train him, but no one expects him to stay in any job for a long period most likely he will move into management quickly and be out of the union. But he will know the job when he does. George, I need some cheep help on the pore line, flowing Iron, no one needs training. Send Bill. George I need help on the machine bolt lines. Send Bill. George I need help in accounting. Send Bill. What kind of safe work environment is this.

And you have not adressed any of what I said about liabilities for injuries caused or the ramifications of putting substandard products into the marketplace. Why would I jeopardize my good reputation and the future of my business by allowing any untrained individual to do anything?
