Robbins police officer is not charged in fatal shooting on Chic...

I think this story is outrageous because the officer involved was related to the wife of the fatally wounded man which makes this situation a conflict of interest for the officer who fired the fatal shots. The officer was once married to the wife of the fatally wounded man and they have two children together. I do not believe he should have been the one to respond to the call in this matter. I believe that this should be further investigated for fowl play.

He didn't respond to a call. He was off-duty. His ex-wife called him because she thought her current husband was "too hard" on the kids. This was purely a domestic situation that happened to involve an off-duty police officer. If you ask me, the wife knew perfectly well what the outcome was going to be when she called her ex. Beats having to divorce the second husband, I guess.

Of course he did not respond to an official call, but the call of his ex-wife, but this still does not justify that he shot this man four times. I see this as domestic and he said she said here. This is truly sad! and Very suspicious? this story just do not add up and needs further investagation! WhY would you call you EX- HUSBAND(who just happen to be a COP)to a domestic situation? why not call the cops have them remove your current husband, then call your children's father? It appears that something is not right! I guess we will have to continue to assume because the truth is DEAD! we can only go by the story of the "WIFE" and the EX-HUSBAND go figure!

Mr. McKinney was a hard working young man who want the best for everyone. I am still sitting and thinking why would the wife call her Ex-husband. It seems to me that she could not control her own kids. The question that is why did the Ex-husband leave. Could not take his own kids I guess not. But no child/children should be rude to your mate. I don't care what age they are.

Now another young african male that was doing good in the community is died because of a stupid decision made by a person that doesn't know how to handle their business.

But like everyone is stating we have to believe the "Wife" and Ex-Husband no we do not if you know Mr. McKinney then you already know the story.

Those two will have to deal with the man above or what really HAPPENED.

Could someone tell me why this is not be look into even more. My question they claimed Mr. McKinney had a gun but did Mr. McKinney shot at the officer?

another officer get away with murder. He thinks he's getting off but he has to meet his MAKER one day, he'll reap what he sows!

I feel that it not right for that police office to go free. Because he kill a man in front of his own house and his kids saw what happen and Mckinney did fire back at him and the police office was off duty. why was the off-duty office carrying his gun in the first place at that man house? If it was Mckinney who shot the police that make sure he serve some time. since the off-duty police kill Mckinney the drop the charges and that not right. Off-duty police should get charge like everybody else. all it was a setup. that girl got something to do with it, too. So what really happen the police officer killed Mckinney because he was to hard on the kids!That some bullshit. it got to be more to that story, off-duty police and his ex-wife, who every she was to him and they kids know what really happen. off-duty police should go to jail for what he had done.

I agree with what everyone else has said.. I knew Mr Mckinney personally, worked with him and loved him as my friend.. I dont know his wife nor do I care to...what I do know is the type of man he was.. he was passionate,loving, caring, poetic,talented man with so much to offer this world and his children.. He was shot down in cold blood trying to be the kind of man more men should be.. if the ex husband was sooo concerned he should have stayed married to the bi**h and kept his own kids... this is the saddest thing I ever heard.. and to think now she has to deal with the fact that her twin babies with Mckinney will know her ex husband murdered their dad.. how do you justify that??? I hope the family continues to fight this.. I hope they get justice and find peace.. I know that for me a void has been left in this world because a young talented black man made the choice to do the right thing... so much for happy endings.. rest in peace Marcus

This is a sad situation.. my prayers go out to the family, and I hope they find the justice and peace that they seek... My prayers are with the children.. the ones who witnessed this tragedy and the ones who are not old enough to know but this legacey will follow forever..

What happened was a tragedy. We all have speculations about motives, the truth and are emotionally engaged. This man was focused on success, family, art and love.
We must put the pieces of the puzzle together for the future generations as this could happen to any of us or our family members. We will carry those memories forever.
I encourage his family to pursue this by taking it through the ranks until they reach the highest authority. Police brutality is out of control.
Complaining verbally relieves stress. Let's take action by voting for political figures that pass laws to convict crimes involving police brutality. Parents can encourage children to have respect for all authority as not to even be perceived as a problem. This statement is not to point to finger at any of the children involved.

Does anyone know if this case is being reopened.. his death will be in vain if something is not done.. he would expect us to fight... to make sure justice was done... this needs to be investigated further..

Internal affairs of police department is investigating. Family also holding a protest outside the home this coming Sunday. Also the wife has not been showing up at the protest rallies. Sounds interesting to me.
