Recently there have been numerous complaints brought up against the police department in Crestwood. Do you feel the CW PD is a professional and well run organization or do you think it has problems doing its job? Does anyone else have any more complaints about the department or the way it is run?

It seems that alot of people are very negative when it comes to the P.D. there. The Police Department may have had problems in the past, that's just it,"The Past". It seems that the department has had some issues, so be it. It's a small town, small town politics. Look at the corruption that goes on in the City of Chicago... disgusting at the least.
If the Chief and his brass are trying to make changes in the Police Department, the citizens should back their efforts. They should stop dumping on them and support them. After all, part time or not, the Police there are just that, "State Certified Police Officers". They take the same 200 question state test as the full timers. You can't judge everyone by the actions of few...
Cut them some slack, change takes time people.

Come on BRO, they're is a huge difference between part time guys and "careerists." Pay and benefits, hours worked, ONGOING TRAINING.

Crestwood is cheap and they don't want to spend the money it takes to train, pay and keep a professional police force.

Bro, I agree with you 100%. Crestwood doesn't need full time officers. There isn't that serious of crimes going on here. The part time guys are doing fine. Every PD is going to make mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes are very serous and sometimes not. Crestwood PDs mistakes aren't very serious. You are always going to have people that don't agree with the decisoions of police officers because those people don't believe that their cabable of breaking the law. Those people then go and complain. Thats just how it is.

Why does Crestwood feel they have to resist "professionalizing" their police department?

I have no complaints about the Crestwood PD! In fact, they have my full support. In the ten years that my wife and I have lived hear, we have had no robories or even disturbances on my block. For that I would like to thank the Crestwood PD. I think they are doing a fine job of keeping our community safe for all. Last summer they stood on the corner of my block and handed out ftlyers reminding people of the speed limit and the fact that there are always kids around.(Great idea!) I have seen them ticket many of people for speeding and blowing the stop sign at the corner. These guys aren't laying down on the job, they are out there doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Wait a minute, earlier we heard that the police do not waste time giving out tickets. Mike said they only give out warnings. Now you are bragging about them giving out all kinds of tickets. Which of you is lying?

Well who is the liar? And I thought this page was about complaints against the PD. You need to find the "We Love the Crestwood PD Site." Oh wait, they don't have one of those.... Have you heard what the guys at Midlothian PD are saying?

So you are admitting that the Crestwood Police are malicious in their enforcement of the law?

No that is called using discretion. Everyday across the United States that is done by thousands of police officers. But I bet you already knew that didn't you?

No, thats not true. They arrest people who believe they are above the law and do not have to cooperate. That's obstructing justice. Your stupid post's are called "blabbing". That should help clear things up for you.

Above the law? Like a community service officer pulling people over? Like a Crestwood Police Seargent threatening someone with arrest saying "your on my turf now." Like abandoning children in a Walmart? Like lying on police reports submitted as evidence to the state?

It's not too hard to see who thinks they are above the law.
