Child killer sentenced

A small urn containing the ashes of his 4-year-old victim sat in a Putnam County courtroom Thursday as convicted murderer Jeremy Joe Farris was sentenced to 75 years in prison.

I think the mother, who I recently viewed a picture of her drinking beer AFTER her release from jail(while on home detention) should have recieved a longer, more harsh sentence. I am outraged that she is out and has a new baby. She is also involved with another man...Bobby Jones, whose family has a history with child abuse and neglect and was just released from prison himself on drug and gun related offenses... what was the prosecutor thinking when he set her free? Home detention needs to monitor her more closely. My children's lives are worth more than 150 days...why isn't hers?

I agree Jennifer. It's a Damn shame. She should have gotten 5 years, not 5 months. She neglected her child, and put his life in danger. It is because of many poor decisions she made that her 4 y/o had to die.
