I am searching for some family tree limbs in the Culpeper area.

I know that Mack M. Rumsey (or Rumsley) b. 15 Feb 1901, lived in the area in 1924, and that he married Ruth Laura Yowell on 17 Apr 1824. I found this info in an abstract from the culpeper Exponent Apr 1920-Apr 1925.

So, I do know they were theere in 1924.

I have searched Ancestry.com using every term I can think of and cannot find either Mack OR Ruth in any census from 1900 thru 1920, in VA. Although I KNOW they were there.

So, I am not trying to locate Ruth's parents. They were Daniel Yowell (b 10 July 1867,. VA) and Nancy Jane Armentrout (b. 9 Jan 1878 VA), and I think they also lived in the Culpeper area. I do know that they both moved to MD and died in Baltimore MD.

Again, I have searched Ancestry.com census records and do not find them.

What I am wondering is, was part of the 1910 or 1920 census for the Culpeper County area lost or destroyed?

OR, are there any Yowell or Armentrout families still there that might be able to help me solve this mystery?

Usually the census records on Ancestry.com are really complete, and I am just baffled as to why I cannot ind these people on any records!
