two sides to every story but the cops are paid pros. that should have been able to bring him down without killing him. at the very least they need more training.

you people all disgust me. you want the law enforcement around to protect and defend your very existence. they put their lives on the line each and every day. and when this kind of thing happens, YES VERY UNFORTUNATELY, all you can do is chastise them.

you all talk as if you've been there, done that. you have no fvcking clue!! you live on soundbites, biased news, and heresay.

try spending a day with them. walk in their shoes. then you would know. i do. i spend each and every day of my life on the front lines with federal LEOs. i've trained with them. i've seen what they have to put up with. it comes down to them or the perp. and the perp will lose most every time. even in a controlled environment when training there is a great deal of stimuli and pressure. you have to do what is necessary to minimize the threat to yourself and others around you. even if it means taking another persons life.

yes fine maybe they overreacted. however, take into account the fact that the family came running up. the perp did not listen to the orders from the officers. the perp was trying to leave the scene. yes he was scared, granted. but had he just dropped the weapon, got on his knees (or whatever was ordered) then his death would have been avoided.

I read some of the previous entries but I didn't cover all 22 pages thoroughly and i feel that many of the statements need to be compromised with eachother. Justin Fisher was a friend of mine from high school and when i got the call after getting off work about the shooting it broke my heart.
I have been exposed to both sides of the story and I hold no malicious feelings towards the officers, nor do I condone the event. I feel that other measures could have been taken but it was not within those four officers power to enact them. I also no that the Anne Arundel county police department had not issued enough non-lethal weapons and that they did not have a 24/7 psych unit. I'm also aware that under the stress of the stand-off and the apparent mental condition of Justin the officers were probably very tense, though i have also had it brought to my attention that the county does not stress handling these situations in a group environment in training. My grandfather was also a police officer and put it simply that they train to use their weapons as a last resort, but that last resort is also to be aimed at the chest, this isn't hollywood. I do feel though that for 4 cops to fire enough rounds to strike him 8 times may have been a bit excessive, but i wasn't there. Finally, I'm incredibly sympathetic with the Fishers, they have suffered, along with myself and all of my friends who went to school with Justin. I feel that with Mother's day but several months away I plan on being back in MD with mine and to pay my respects to a friend and his family.
For those of you who condemn those who are complaining about the police, please recognize that Mrs. Fisher called them to help bring her son home and to help him, not to put him in a casket.
I'm aware that in the time that i've been back in Ohio to attend college more information has come up about the case but i have not heard any of the information conclusively so i did not comment on it here.
I ask that think about the situation that happened here before you post. I'll also ask that you pay respect to one of the most dedicated people I knew and admired and atleast use his name, Justin Fisher, because the dehumanizing of an individual is one of the reasons it is that much easier to pull the trigger.

The cops had no right to do what they did. there guns should have not been used and they did not need 7 guns out. They are to save lives not take lives. they should be shoot for what they did.
