Review: Pendleton Southgate Realty

For people who specificly RENT from these people:

Dont expect good customer care

If something breaks Expect at least a week for work to be done on it. I waited 4 months for my driveway to be fixed, it was so bad I couldent use it.

Expect to be overcharged when you leave, specificly from "T & M cleaning and repairs, LLC. I should have taken them to court but my girl convinced me not to... still shaking my head.

These are the worst people to rent from!!!!!!!!!They have terrible communication skills and are outright LIARS!!!!!I would rather live under a bridge then rent from them again!!!

I have rented from Pendleton Southgate for the past 3 months. Nothing but problems with them since the day I moved in! Firstly, several repairs need to be made to the plumbing (shower faucets leak hot water constantly, outside faucet leaks when on into wall down to basement, most shut off vavles don't fully shut off water, etc...) countertops not secure, and more. Was promised it would all be fixed within the first couple weeks. Well 3 months later, and still nothing has been fixed, and I get constantly told that they are sending the contractor over or just placing blame on "the contractors" has become the norm. The landlord had the audacity to complain about the yard (I water, weed, mow, mulch... have done a LOT of work to get it up to "par"... don't think previous owner/renter did ANYTHING with yard). He mentioned something about the owners possibly placing the house on the market in the next few months, so I'm guessing his concern is "curb appeal" over making basic repairs. They have NO problem taking full rent payment every month.

Bottom line: RENT FROM SOMEONE ELSE WHO GIVES A CRAP!!!!

You have renters rights. If the house is in need of mandatory repairs you dont have to pay your rent untill those repairs are done. Look up your rights as a renter. You will be surprised on what you find! I wouldnt give those people anymore money untill they got everything fixed!

I know about all the Landlord-Tenant Laws in Oregon. The better question to me is does Southgate Realty? I bet they do, but they just don't care. I tried withholding rent for repairs, as advised by my lawyer, by putting the rent in an escrow account until repairs were made. Guess what? Still no repairs. This agency is willing to damage thier reputation in order to make a quick profit. Don't believe me? Look in the East Oregonian. I rarely see them advertising available rentals, but I sure as hell see a lot of ads that they are "accepting new properties for management" which leads me to believe they are spreading their resources way to thin in order to make up for slow business due to the housing market.

all I can say again is do yourself a favor and look at all the other options before you consider Southgate. I know Pendleton is small with a limited number of rentals, but you would be suprised at the good deals there are to be had here along with GREAT landlords!

I keep getting nasty messeges on my phone from one of the property managers. I don't even rent! After every rude messege, I call and let them know that they have a wrong number. I have had 3 horrible messages on my phone. QUIT CALLING ME, I'M NOT YOUR TENET!!!!

I must say, I have no tenants named Jon Smith, in fact, no Smith's at all. You mention "he said"; I have no property management people that are men, and have not since December. I've read your letter several times and cannot place you as a tenant at all. I have about 4 homes with basements, none rented recently, the folks have been there quite a while. Nothing leaking that I am aware of...no one that has reported loose counter tops, none reporting leaking faucets, no houses at all that anyone is planning on selling that I'm aware of, and I haven't complained about anyone's yard. If you'd like to tell me who you really are, I will make sure your repairs are made. Oh, and---i really do give a "crap"; and I have a whole lot of happy tenants.

Sorry, Amy, but Deborah gave me that number twice claiming it was her number, and I had reached her at that phone number several times. Aplogies for bothering you, but I really did want her to move the 3620 pounds of garbage she left behind.

Sorry the rental you were in was sold, but you knew it was for sale when you moved in...
