Just curious...How can CBS2 News lay off Suzanne Rico, then replace her with someone else on the 5 - 7 a.m. morning news program? This doesn't seem right.

How can they let Suzanne Ricco and Vera go? I am now a channel 7 watcher for news in the early morning.

The Suzanne Ricos of the world are interesting.
They often gain and maintain their positions because they are very attractive - but then they become bored doing what they were hired to do.
I've watched Suzanne Rico for several years and she did seem to be somewhat of an "Ice Princess" - but pleasant to watch nonetheless.
I'm sure she'll find something else to do.

I agree, what is CBS doing. The jerk here seems to be Henry who was constantly putting Vera down. He has yet to dis Amelia (finally he may be getting a clue not to undercut women).
Suzanne and Kent were a good team. The lack of professionalism as for people leaving is swift and cold, at least mention their contributions and allow them to say goodbye to their loyal watchers.
Maybe they are going slutty like channel 11's new's girls. Suzzane wouldn't have been caught dead (on camera) in a ho outfit.

I'm appalled! If it was cost savings why not get rid of some of the other "losers" to keep Suzanne & Johnny? I feel like some good friends have moved away. I will switch stations for A.M. news now.

I will miss Johnny Mountain the most. Ms. Rico was too stiff and icy for me. Hope Johnny gets on another channel.

Just as with any other organizational move, the decision makers think that because of their status, they make positive change by eliminating the quality with lower waged bimbos; which has been the case in just about every industry since I can remember. It is a revolving cycle that when organizations struggle financially, the quality has to be eliminated, when the lack of quality begins to affect the ratings suddenly the director will get the axe and the quality reappears. The cycle starts all over again. So sad to see her go!

Why Whittier CA wrote: . . they make positive change by eliminating the quality with lower waged bimbos; . . I hated to see Suzanne go. But she wasn't initially hired for her literary achievements - she was a young, attractive blonde. Over the years, attractive girls end up making a lot of money - and are often replaced by less expensive, even more attractive young girls. And the even the awards that are earned along the way rarely save them.

I do agree with others who mention CBS 2's proclivity towards "blondes," however it's getting to the point of ridiculous on this hire-fire thing with CBS 2 - with both men & women alike.
And like others I think it's nearly the last straw for me too...Henry DiCarlo is who keeps me hanging on to this morning show.
But CBS 2's antics are now taking notice more from those of us who watch and are the butt of jokes, ridicule and criticism. Its antics and its news director...

I'm sad to learn Suzanne Rico is gone from CBS news. I thought she was such a class act and my absolute favorite of all CBS, NBC and ABC female anchors. It's truly annoying anymore to see so many female reporters spending more time on their (unprofessional) revealing clothes, new hairstyles and silly on-air chatter than just reporting the news in as professional manner as Suzanne has always done. She was the only female reporter worth watching/listening to.
