There's a lovely sophisticate children's book about fruit bats, called "StellaLuna." They are depicted as highly intelligent. This echolocation business they use to fly at night requires a lot of brain power, bandwith, parallel processing, etc. The artist drew them to have splendid inquisitive faces. Fruit bats may indeed be highly sophisticated mammals. All this could explain the topic of this thread.
