Pete wrote: <quoted text> Not bad for Fiat you mean. Too Funny. Exactly where would Chrysler be right now without Fiat or Govt loans? All the American car companies would have tanked ,closed up shop, and all the workers in good ole Detroit could sit on their porches and talk about the good ole days. If and when they could afford a new car, they could buy a fine automobile made by a foreign owned company located somewhere in the South.

The strange thing is that some folks believe that assembling a vehicle here somehow makes it American made and justifies ownership while pushing off any guilt through denial!
The reality of purchasing foreign made...the R&D, the design, the engineering the administration and every other non assembly line grunt work aspect of foreign, results in huge profit back to the motherland of the particular company.
Thinking assembly line only, is so small minded!
People that buy foreign for the most part, are buying into trends and keeping up with the Jones's!
Hey, I say buy what you like, but lets not BS anyone about it!

UAW needs to realize that American car workers aren't that special. Same quality labor can be had elsewhere for less.

I care about quality, looks and performance. Nothing designed or made it Detroit has it. Sorry.:) One more think: do you really think that Toyota owners are all Japanese? Americans don't invest in Toyota shares? Wake up. There are not privately owned outfits, but internationally traded public companies.:) How silly.
