manchester

A friend of mine is moving to brown county from Billings Montana. She is looking at a home on the outskirts of Manchester in the country. I don't know much about that area and wanted to post here and in the Manchester forum to see what kind of opinions and info. I can get to pass on to her and her husband. They have 3 Kids and she is worried about what kind of place it is and what kind of kids her kids will be going to school with. Im wondering what kind of place it is and I realize this is the ripely forum but has anyone ever known of any issues with that school. Im asking Ripley folks because your in a sense neighbors with Manchester. They have 3 Kids, she is a nurse and he does some kind of work at a power plant. Is it a bad place or good with a little bad like most towns?

drugs,bars ,drugs drugs yep that is all there is in manchester.

Schools?Easy choice..go to Manchester. Just check the test scores.

ripley is a better school than manchester.. and better place to live than manchester..more opertunities for the kids than mhs

they should live in Ripley. If you are into drugs (and yes they are every place you turn) or bars then Manchester is the place to live.

The last time i looked in Manchester, there was only one bar, Ripley has lets see 5 bars. And for drugs they are everywhere if i remember right ripley lost two teenages this past year to drugs. There is nothing wrong with Manchesters schools.. Actually they got a better grade then Ripley did. Ripley students had a choice this past year to go to Eastern or Georgetown because of the low grade the school got and they had to bus them there. So i hope that helps u out a little better.

I just looked up the ratings for schools by the state of Ohio, it also takes into consideration attendance and graduation rates and Manchester is rated much higher than Ripley...it's true and the info. Is available to anyone interested. Just go to greatschools.com . One of the highest rated in this area and in the state is Bethel schools but thats pretty far away.

As for drugs....unfortunately Ripley and It seems like aberdeen especially are just rampant with drugs, and sadly drug related deaths.I know Manchesters no Heaven on earth, but there is only 1 bar in town as opposed to a couple blocks worth in ripley (where I'm at).

All things considered I've about talked myself into moving to Manchester :-)
