Attorney General Martha Coakley lined up additional endorsements from key teamsters and electrical workers unions as they are the beneficiaries of the renewable energy programs in Massachusetts. Here is how it works:
A. The State passes the proposed Massachusetts Wind Energy Siting Reform Act that allows 400 foot commercial wind turbines in state parks, open space, your back yard with little or no setbacks and your city or town has no say in the placement of the turbines.
B. The teamsters are all the former workers from the Big Dig who are now in the commercial wind turbine business and the electricians wire commercial wind turbines, transformers, underground utilities, electric poles etc.
C. Its a well known fact that renewable energy "business mistakes " are not prosecuted by the AG when "wind turbine mistakes" are made by former state reps who leave the state with a couple of million dollars and are sentenced to Hawaii for the rest of their lives.
D. The bottom line is the governor wants a certain amount of renewable energy by 2010 and does not want your rights in the way of his taking legislative power forever in order to achieve his goals. The Attorney General Martha Coakley has tipped the scales of justice in favor of questionable business practices with the semi-quasi Massachusetts Technology Colaborative,boutique bank accounts and wind turbine contractors.
