Prosecutors allege 37-year-old Lisa Butler wrote nearly three dozen checks to herself between November 2006 and December of last year while she was overseeing the money at the Briarcliffe Fire Company in Darby Township .

It is a shame it took one person to destroy the reputation of a good and honorable fire company. All the years that the men and women put into it and now all it will be remember for is the embezzlement.
