Cops in this town...

To be honest i get a kick out of it but at the same time its frusterating and pisses me off. They really have no purpose. All they do all day is just drive around. There have been many times when i needed the help and they were of no use at all. its like if they have to actually do something its so hard.
Example I had alot of problems with a certain person (and X) and ended up having to get a restraining order. This didnt seem to bother this person a bit and i was still b contacted by him. They wouldnt do a thing about it. If he would call my phone they would say well you have to prove that it was him calling and not somone else using his phone. so i let them listen to the viocemails where he plain as day says his name, they still wouldnt do anything. I have went in the department many times and filled out statements and later on when i went to get these statements for proof in court somehow there is nothing on file for me or the person i have the restaining order against,,,who by the way has a very interesting record. Wierd how that works out huh. Im guessing that before he got sent to prison he narked out some more people and then BAM somehow everything domestic report or anything else is somehow wiped clear. Whats even funnier about it is that about six months prior to trying to get the statements that i wrote out that oddly never got filed prolly just got thrown in the trash... i had went to the department and they gave me all the statements from earlier on. But then when i go back to get the ones filed after that they dont have those or the ones that they had already given me.
I was run off the road by this person and immediatly called the police and was informed that they couldnt do anything for me. They would tell me to talk to the sherriff department, so i would do tha and they would tell me to go the the city police, it was alwaysa just a run around
The way that i look at it is when something happens to me because of this violent person, then maybe they will see they should have done there job to "serve and protect" Its sad that it will probably have to come to this.
instead they drive around all day and give tickets for stupid things like parking in the wrond direction on a rurual street (which if you realy pay attention it is very common) or window tinting and other stupid things.
There have been a few times when i just had to sit back and laugh at the pigs in this town. one time they tried arresting someone and it wasnt even the right person. lol
or tried telling me that i had a warrant out for my arrest....sorry wrong person
they cant get there shit together and dont want to put fourth the effort to help those who really need it. they are a waste of time and air and money.

FYI: The police do NOT make out the warrants, those come from the prosecutor or judge.

never said they made out warrants...they were told over there dispatch...they cant even get names right. how are people sopposed to feel safe when they cant even get there shit together or file reports as they are sopposed to. believe me i would love to get out of this town, but i have obligations that keep me here. all im saying is that its frusterating that they dont do the job they are sopposed to. And i have to look like an idiot going before a judge with no proof that the cops where there or that they even took a statement that my xboyfriend was abusive towards me. But hey... guess if your a nark and get a deal with the police then it all works out huh. Its sad for those on the other end

I got pulled over one time for a traffic offense and the cop had no idea what they were doing. i sat there for at least 20 min in my car with my child in the backseat. Then later that day, the same officer called me to tell me that they made a mistake on my ticket...blah blah blah...
now tell me its not amusing. They obviously need more training

I don't see much point in bad-mouthing cops. Unless they're corrupt, police everywhere do one heck of a job, and I don't envy them. Now that said, I do remember one time when I followed my kid home from school because he was getting into fights. Neighbors called the cops on me because I looked "suspicious". And that's fair: I wasn't doing anything wrong, but when an adult is parked along the street waiting for school to get out, you can't take any chances as a good neighbor.

Well, Kenton's Finest came up behind me as I was driving a few blocks to home, and put on the lights just as I pulled up to the house. No problem- I had license & registration ready. As the old wag goes, you shouldn't be afraid of the police if you've done nothing wrong.

Except that the dispatcher misheard the registration number when the officer read it over the air to do a check. Heh. It was like being in an episode of Cops, as the officer told me how "strange" it was that the registration came back to a different vehicle. And did I mention he didn't seem to be the sort to enjoy a good mystery?

Several tense moments later, the officer had the good grace to check the registration again. Whew. As I said, I'm not badmouthing the cops-- they do a heck of a job. But they can only work with the tools they have, and with older technology (vox transfer of suspect data, as opposed to in-vehicle laptops) mistakes are bound to happen.

The kenton cops are bad when it comes to domestic violence one time my husband was beating on my son and I was at the hospital with my other child who was in a critical state.So my Family called the police on my husband to see what they could do and they proceded to tell my brother that if he took my son out of the house he could be prosocuted even if his father was beating the crap out of my son.There were many times my husband was drunken and going crazy and hitting people I called the cops to have him removed from the house and they said they couldnt make him leave it was half his house too even if he was hitting people.In most places you would be able to write out an incident report

it is not just Kenton,Ada cops are worthless also!
Not to mention the county prosecutor is a complete idiot.
next time, lets vote the prosecutor and judge out of office

I can't understand why some people cannot respect the police for the job that they do. They put their lives on the line every day that they are working, not knowing whether or not they are going to get to go home at the end of their shift. They, too have personal problems and in order to keep themselves safe and be able to do their job, they have to leave their problems at the door when they enter the workplace. No one is without problems and it sounds like some people would not have so many "problems" if they changed the way they live. Alot of problems are brought on by the person themselves. Kenton police do need an update on their equipment I'm sure, but no matter where you decide to live or the profession that you're in, there are going to be mistakes. Now, it you don't like where you're living, obligations or not, please leave. Kenton just might be able to clean up their town with less negative people.

why should the people leave? when its the idiots with the badge or gavel that is making it a worst to live.

i moved out of kenton a few years back due to the druugs being everywhere its a little ghetto ass town, the cops are more worried about people running stop signs when the town is taken over by heroin, not to mention the judges & lawyers all do cocaine together and i know this for a fact my magistrate in my rents divorce was on probation but still workin for the bust, how convenient they can judge others and keep there jobs while if anyone else were to go to court for this theyd throw them in jail but like i said kenton cops arent down for the things they should be. other thing if you play football you get away with murder, rape & attempt at vehicular homicide. that town is a joke along with all law enforcement.

Vote them out! remove them! our liberty is a stake!
term limits are needed in hardin county. judge is a bumbling idiot and the prosecutor got elected because all of the drunks he got off of dui and is in bed with judge

I totally agree...vote them out! But, to many people find it easier to bitch & whine, than to deal with a problem

I have no knowledge on the Kenton PD but I have first hand experience with ADA, small town wanna be heroes. The old saying "you get what you pay for" applys.

Well your an idiot if you cant tell this is a cop bragging him and the rest of the law enforcement up in kenton but i have nothing against the cops or wat they do i could care less i just thought everyone should know.

ummmmm....last I knew ha ha ha, swisscelt is definitely not a cop, never has been, never will be. The incident he stated is factual and happened while we lived in that area (we do not live there now). As swisscelt's wife, I can tell you for a fact that he has never owned a gun, billy club or anything else that might be owned by a "cop".....He definitely was not all roses when he was pulled over that day, but he (and I for that matter) understand that its better to be cautious in a situation that he was in. just thought I'd let You know :)
