James was serving his time for which he was sentenced, he was not sentenced to DEATH. In this case the system did fail. A poorly run facility is the reason this murder was able to occur.

If my son made a mistake and went to prison and someone killed him while he was there I would expect the system to explain and tell me why the hell something like this could happen . A lame excuse, results in major changes for those in charge because someone failed to do their job.
