Good for New Milford residents, bad for town center shop owners. Soon your downtown will be like downtown Danbury!

Also bad for Route 7. Why add capacity if you're just going to use it all up? That road is a commuting corridor but now it will be retail shops and traffic signals. Fun.

All you new milford natives need to wake up. We need this development up here. There are no stores in town. We also need more franchise restaurants. We need to develop Rt. 7 from Lansville road to the bridge like the miracle mile on federal rd in danbury/brookfield. Get on board New Milford residents. THis is not the 50's anymore.

If the downtown merchants have half a brain, they will sign leases in the new shopping complexes.

If opportunistic rednecks have half a brain, they'll put a plan in place to "BLAME" immigrants for downtown's demise.

be careful what you wish for.

If drunken immigrants had five fifths of a brain, they'd realize Danbury is infested with filthy black people who are to blame for downtown's demise.

Good job zoning commission.
This shopping center means more revenues and an expanded grand list. It will give more choices for the towns people and to the people who travel thru New Milford to get to Brookfield and Danbury shopping areas. There will be less of a need to travel farther south to shop, so they will be shopping and dining in New Milford, a win win situation.
As well the savings in travel time will provide more opportunity for people to stop downtown to eat and shop in our dining and entertainment district.
The benefits are more revenues and more choices.
Good Job to the Zoners and the Economic Development supervisor for making this project a realty. Keep up the good work folks.

I like seeing this happen. I live 25/30 minutes north of New Milford and it sucks to have to drive almost an hour to go to a less expensive store/resturant. Less travel time equals less gas used.

Sad really. New Milford has one of a few remaining actual New England town centers, complete with a town Green. The shopping center is going to have "a New England village look" the same way that Main Street at DisneyWorld is a fake version of a real Main Street. Why do people prefer the fantasy versions to the real thing?
