Sandston Residents Oppose Cell Tower

I seems to me that a lot of people in the Sandston area are always opposed to any type of growth in our community. Maybe thats why the east end is so far behind the rest of Henrico in getting anything new.

We are not opposed to growth. We want responsible growth. We don't want to be the "west end" where people live on top of each other and have monster, view ruining towers in our neighborhoods.

Sandston is simply a redneck community.

Ironically they are the first ones to complain when their cell phones do not receive good reception.

Well, that was rude. Sandston is not a redneck community. We all know we need a cell tower here in the country. Let it ride. By the by......what do you call yourself?

"The Truth" obviously has no clue about Sandston. We don't mind cell towers as long as they are not in out neighborhoods. We don't need 4 different towers for 4 different companies. There is no reason they cannot consolidate on one tower.

In response, that user obvisouly is not from the area and has no clue about the town. They say we are redneck community? That comment posted was most insulting, uneducated and rude something much like a so called Redneck would do. Unless seven pines or sandston elementary schools are having proms for those kids, i doubt anyone is going to travel from another town to eat there. When the nearest high schools prom is totally the opposite way. But back to the topic, as in anything you will have the people who oppose the tower but that is there right to do so, not everyone wants to look at a 144ft. tower and they have every right to oppose it. My opinion on the subject is that yes, Sandston is behind in growth and is in need of many things and i do not think a tower should be the first of our worries. THE TRUTH you might want to rethink your name next time because you are diffently not speaking the truth and i think you are the one who is not ready for growth. Anyone who can sit there and take a hit at a new resturant who has come into the area and and has tried to make the area a better place. Im all for a tower and growth as long as it is done rationaly and is controlled. But you have to remember there is only so much that can be done without revamping alot of the traffic patters and zoning.

Its just a tower people.Relax, just think of the better reception you will get.In Aug of 08 Sandston will be getting its first head shop,smoke shop selling cigaretts pipes, bongs, papers,scales,and even salvia extract.If you dont know what salvia is you might want to look it up.A legal mind altering substance that has no age restriction to purchase.Sandston residents should be more worried about that, rather than a tower.The tower is needed.

What head shop? Where will it be located? Has it been approved by the county?
As far as the tower, when you have 2 towers within a mile of each other, I think that's a bit much.
