I just want to say that I had 100% faith in Karen Southwick...she was leading the Richmond High School in the right direction. She made sure her little darling boy got wonderful grades, yessiree! That's the kind of honest leadership that inspires me!

Per 100.7 will not be made public for 72 hours. Board has that 72 hours to make the decision and voting will be made public at that time.

I just wanted to stop in and remind you that you are a cowardly, dirty little smear of crap on the bottom of the Ray County shoe! Don't bother with a response, because it won't be read. I just wanted to make sure you are reminded from time to time that you are a waste of flesh! Bye now!

Per 100.7 FM interview with the Richmond School Board President: The School Board met briefly in closed session after all testimony was concluded (about 1AM). Then they returned to open session and voted to support their original vote back before the appeal to the judge in Clay County. That vote was 3 - 3 (a tie) and thus failed. Then a vote to reinstate Mrs Southwick was taken. That vote was also 3 - 3 (again a tie) and thus failed. This means that Mrs Southwick was not rehired. The Board then adjourned. Time: about 2AM. Mrs Southwick has only an option to go to another appeal to a court that will hear her case. Not all was able to be presented at this hearing. The presentations were limited to only what was a part of the previous hearing.

For such a controversial hearing, the Middle School was used to accomodate a large crowd. The room was set up with about 200 chairs. Only about 75 or so chairs were used by the audience. It was interesting that the audience would clap and cheer for Mr Robins (former Superintendent) that had almost financially bankrupted the district. Dr Kizzire had to really tighten the district finances to even make payroll. He almost had to borrow money from the bank to meet the monthly obligations. The audience also clapped and cheered for most of the others called by Mrs Southwick's lawyers to testify. Finally, when the district lawyers called for several very highly respected teachers and former administrators to testify, the crowd was snickering and basically rude to them. Bullying tactics were prevalant. But when the district witnesses began to tell their observations, the crowd became pretty quiet. Many were visibly showing hatred towards their colleagues, but also embarassment was shown by several. It was definitely a long night, lots of testimony. Both sides had a fair hearing, and the Board of Education definitely was making sure that the hearing was addressing all of the various complaints that the Clay County judge wrote in his lengthy paper.
