Bible study rules for public schools proposed

If the christian cult where to be allowed to sell their picked and chosen beliefs as fact to children we would return to the dark ages where people thought the earth was flat and the sun orbited the earth.
People seek cures for horrible illness like cancer and AIDS by turning to science and fact, they no longer drain blood or use leaches because SCIENCE and FACTS have given us better lives.
If you want your children to be taught fantasy as fact send them to a school ran by your cult, cant afford that? Then I tell you what you tell people who can not afford health care, get a better job!
The purpose of a school is to teach facts and train young people how to think, not WHAT to think but HOW to think. The christian cult wants the opposite of that and has no place in educating children

if you go further in the Matthew about being kind to people who are in distress, you get to the part where there are the divisions of people into sheep and goats, and the threats to the goats. so even when the ethic looks good, the enforcement mechanism is threat of of hell, so what sort of goodness is that? not to mention nasty to goats and rather insulting to sheep, from the point of view of an independent thinker! I figured you were sensible, and were mostly opposed to the evil stuff. you freak folks out with your name, apparently. they do not even realize that it is mostly the believers who are the ones who make the big deal about Satan - God's little puppet who is supposed to hide his strings.

Generally, as an example and not as a nearby observer, I'd consider the nearest object of greatest mass to be the reference point. For example, when we describe orbital speeds it is to a fixed point on the Earth's surface. Outbound from the moon would be relative to the moon, inbound to Mars would be measured relative to Mars. I was referring to the part where people are supposed to feed the hungry, heal the sick, you know treat people as humans. I do not for one moment believe that the bible is anything more than a work of fiction but I believe that we should be kind to each other because our survival depends on every one working together. Of course a common theme in the bible is do or be killed.....

My Great Grandmother called me (I'm her favorite) today and wanted me to stop by, so I did (can not say no to her). When I walked in she shuffled over to me with a grin that would make jim carrey in the mask envious. She patted my face and kissed my forehead and told me I would be in heaven with her. She said that me being an atheist was going to keep her baby away from her forever. She showed me a verse in the bible,

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

and she believes in god like no other. She told me she prayed for all people past, present and future to go to heaven and hell to be done away with and she said god agreed. Sooooo suck on it TrueBelievers†

have you ever noticed how after a storm the world seems so wonderfully new?
as if everything that is unlovely has been swept away.
