I would starve before giving my hard earned money to the likes of a temp service. They are a lot like a pawn shop, and take theirs from the sweat of others.
I hate to hear that Bluegrass Plating uses a temp service because we use them, or did before we learned they screw over their employees by using a temp service. So I guess today I will spend looking for another plater. Because we do not approve of screwing over the American worker. And that means if we hire an employee, he is ours, not some temp being controlled by some ingrate, but by our people.
I will be callking to confirm Blurgrass Platings use of temps, but if so, then our company is outta there.
I can confirm this to be 100% true. I am a rack line supervisor, and 95% of our workers are temps, the full times are mainly all supervisors. Do yourself a favor and please pull your company out now. We can't even get hispanic workers, because it is too low paying and the work conditions are so poor the employees we manage to keep are either drug addicts/felons or too old to seek employment elsewhere. That is not meant to be racist in any way. Bluegrass Plating is a joke and always screw over their employees.

Again I ask, what does this have to do with the temp services? I realize the thread is about Blue Grass Plating, but it turned into a temp service bashing. Please, someone tell me what exactly the temp service has done TO you, other than providing jobs to people who can't get employment otherwise?

I applied with a temp service, but found they were going to keep about 20 percent of the pay I earned for themselves. Screw that. IF the temp service owners want money, they need to get job, because the day of skimming off the stupid and calling it a living is coming to a screaming halt. The way major companies are boycotting this cheap labor racket, it will not last long.

Anything is better than being cheated and knowing it.

I have no ties to any temp service, but someone has to pay the employers part of federal and state taxes and workman's comp coverage. That's not free - the employer utilizing temp services doesn't pay it until you are hired. So if your pay starts out at a certain rate agreed to by the employer, and then the temp service keeps a percentage, that's just part of it.

I looked at this way, if a factory knows this is the only job u can get because u are on probation. This is not the factories fault. If u have had several several several chances and still skewed up dont blame the system stop skewing up and get on the right path. You will be amazed how well you will feel. Put the blame where it

Probation could be a lot worse. You all have a choice to be where you can have a better life and live. But the nursing homes patients dont have a choice. So Man up and grow up and take care of your children instead of being force to take responsbilty.

i have worked at bgp. through temp for over 3 years, and only made min. wage.

credited bluegrass plating is a rather small company if you look at it from a larger perspective. but in my opinion their biggest downfall would have to be that they seem unwilling to treat their better workers accordingly. i.e pay, benefits, seniority, all in all i worked their for the factory experience to further future employment at better paying factory jobs.

i have also heard tell that one of their major customers have been planning to pull out. that would come as a major blow to bluegrass plating. and as much as i had despised how i and other employees were made to feel as if it were fruitless labor. i would hate to see that company fall, because i still have dear friends who are employed there full time and temp.

Temp services in my opinion are not a good idea for any employee. They claim they are helping the company by handling the paperwork and paying the taxes. Bullshit. They are working people and keeping a portion of their pay. That is wrong and should not be condoned.

Some companies like that because they think it saves them money. In fact, it gets them ignorant people that will work for nothing, and the lack of respect from other companies.

I manage 300 plus people, we use no temps. Not a single one as our company refuses to screw people so some reprobate with little education can start a temp service hoping to convince people they are helping when in fact they are the problem.

Last week a short fat woman, came to my office and was attempting to "sell" temps to our company. My Secretary had her wait out front while I called security and went to see her. I told her we did not believe in abusing poor people by stealing what little they had, and that if we need employees, we have college educated people to interview and hire them for us. I then asked her to exit the premises and never return as she and her kind are not welcome. Security then escorted her from the building and off the property.

Finally for the record, we as a company refuse to do business with companies that profit from the sweat of the poorer people by working them for less pay than others are making doing the same job.

Any company using temp employees in my opinion is to be avoided by good companies that care for and take care of their people. If a company cannot handle employees and the small amount of paperwork type things, then they need to close.

Bluegrass is nothing but a sh!t hole anyway. Nothing but loose women and drug addicts working in that place. I worked there 2 days and seen nothing but druggies and whor3s. No I am not a convicted felon, just looking for employment, this isn't your run of the mill factory or anything like it. So if you're into drugs and filthy skank women then by all means dig in!!

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aries

You're idealistic and impressionable today, and want to see the best in everyone. Look straight past their faults, pretending they aren't there; concentrate on their good points instead. If a new relationship gets off the ground now it will always be characterized by an aura of romance and fantasy, and a slightly otherworldly quality.
