I work evenings in lexington and get off after midnight. Driving home in the late hours like 2am I have been passed countless time by a madison county sheriff car always flying and always with no lights or siren. This time I was furious and decided to see if I could get a license number. It took me six miles and we are almost to berea and we were going 130mph. I was too scared to write at that speed and afraid I could not remember the tag but I at least got a car number 50. The car exited at berea and didn’t seem to be on a call. What’s up with that?

Are you a trained professional driver? If not what the hell are you doing driving at such a high rate of speed? Two wrongs don't make a right.

Protocol to use lights and siren regardless of time. Sometimes law thinks they are above the law. This had obviously happened more than once.

Call the state police and report this. It is illegal for a officer to do this.

I-75 no side roads, late night, no traffic to warn (also some folks that live and sleep near interstate don't like siren played for coons and deer ) Speaking of coons and deer I've never attempted to talk to them (you may have) but I don't think they understand siren blue lights over tire noise white light- but you may know more of coons than I do! I bet you drive 67 in left lane for hours-(just a guess!)

state police pull over local police before. In the early 80's. I was going to Lexington When 3 county cops from different counties up north went flying past me about the 92 mile marker doing well over 100 miles an hour. I assume they had been to a training class at EKU. Just before the Clays Ferry bridge a state police officer had the local cops pulled over and standing beside the road at attention and was shaking his finger at them and reading them the riot act. So I know that unless they have the lights on they are not supposed to be speeding at such a high rate of speed. It is extremely dangerous no matter what time of day it is. What happens if they do loose control? They put others at risk. He isnt the only one on the road as evidenced by the above poster. Saying he has been passed by this officer numerous times. This blatant disregard for the general public and the rules of law is why officers are looked upon by many with contempt. So try and justify it all you want. It is not justifiable. PERIOD! If it is an emergency then lights at least need to be used.

I could care less about light and sirens and deer and coons but there is no safe reason to be running 130 mph by anyone

Heres a Great Idea. Hes in a Police car, so there for hes at work. If theres no traffic, whats the point of screaming sirens to wake up everyone along the interstate, just to appease you. He doesnt just come into your job and tell you how to do yours. Im sick and tired of everyone always bitching about oh this police officer was driving to fast this emergency responder was using flashy lights. Its annoying and its annoying to the people your bitching about it to.

I realize punctuation and spelling are not a requirement to be an officer, but if it is, you would fail miserably. If you are a cop, did you take your apprenticeship from The Richmond Register's editor??
