Not the government. It is corporations mechanizing and replacing workers with robots and other machines. Also moving offshore to reduce environment responsibilities and exploit cheap labor are cutting into the working middle class.

Keep trying (and failing), spew.
You make great entertainment!
You embarrass even liberals (and that is hard)!
Why would I need a lobotomy if I already thought like someone who had a lobotomy?

Do you really know what you are saying at all?

What is really needed is money to buy things. If the money rises to the top, there is not enough for most folks to buy products. Doesn't make any difference how many cars or homes investors can produce if folks cannot afford them! It takes both. What is needed is a balance.
There was a chart on Bloomberg this morning about consumer debt. It showed the peak in 2008 and then a downward trend until 2011 when it started trending up again. This would indicate increased purchases.

Now for the rest of the story.

But Wait! They put another line graph in that showed the same info with student loans stripped out. Consumer debt minus student loans was still going down meaning all these people out of work were taking out student loans trying to retrain.

But people were not using their charge cards in stores or for cars or for houses.

Bad sign.

Mike, it is quite obvious that you have a deep misunderstanding of what is going on economically with this nation.

You: The government takes ALL the money...

REALITY: State, local and federal taxes as measured as a percentage of GDP are at an all time low. Federal taxes alone are ~25% below their historical norm. Currently the government collects less than 15% of GDP as revenues while the average varies between 18 - 21%.

I agree that we are running large deficits. However this is normal in an economic contraction.

You: There are no jobs for the middle class...

REALITY: It is the lower economic classes that have been hurt the worst. Then the middle without college. The middle with college are still doing relatively well.

You:....high energy prices.

REALITY: Prices never got as high as they did under bush and are currently about 25% lower.

You: A perfect storm wiping out the middle class.

REALITY: The middle class is being wiped out due to its own stupidity. Mike, if the wealthy and high earners create jobs why do they hate us so much? Couldn't they fix everything by giving people jobs? Isn't that the excuse used to tax them less?

Moron. Govt budgets are at all time highs, along with deficts and cities going bankrupt. Either the people have the money or the govt does.

You can't help people with food stamps and welfare and Obama is trying to do, that is misery.

Obamacare is a huge middle class tax increase, property taxes in some States scheduled to go up 70%. Energy is high and jobs are not to be found.

Moron, read what I wrote:

"I agree that we are running large deficits. However this is normal in an economic contraction."

Is there some part of that you don't understand?

Your right, adults and children are much better off with nothing to eat and no place to live. NOTE: SARCASM

There is plenty more to eat when you have a job then with food stamps., but jobs are hard to find for poor , middle class and especially blacks in Obamanomics.

It was bushanomics first. It won't be any different in another year or two regardless of who is President.

However, I want a President who is going to kick banks in the gonads until they start acting like they are actually interested in the welfare of the country.

wingnut strawman arguments again.
All you've done is take the nebulous "status" and redefine it as, "his wealth, his position in society", which means the same thing.

What I think Gore should be doing (sticks & caves) is an obvious red-herring for one who made a stupid comment and then tried to back it up with an inane argument.

Strawman, my a$$.

The President of the United States of America fits in with those much more wealthy than he is due to his position, not his money.

President Washington is revered and did not graduate HS, much less attend college.
