How can you or anyone even think Libby is any better off today when Libby and the people,knowingly, continue to allow innocent healthy people/families into a environment that is not safe to anything that breathes.You have had 9 years of not caring for human life except to make a buck knowing you are killing people.Libby kills people and that has not changed and neither has this human ignorance.I tell all who will listen to stay away from Libby as Libby is not a safe place to live and raise a family.I tell the truth.What do you tell folks???

Having reviewed the last several year and deciding that Libby is the place I want to retire - Im all set to complete my move this summer. Our new home will be completed by the end of June. I could not find anyone in Libby who believe that the current asbestos issue are not on their way to being resolved. My 3 grandchildren will be visiting me all during their time off from school. I dont believe that Libby is anymore dangerous than any other place in America, in fact I even believe its safer. With all of the past clean up - its now better than it ever was. I also dont believe that someone from Ashburn, Va speaks for Libby. I do believe that you may have been a past resident of Libby who was not part of the solution - but wants to continue to be part of the problem - personal gain - maybe. Libby has come back from near-disaster and will continue to (with dynamic leadership) be one of Montana's "last best places"

Im working on a school project on the aftermath and effect on Libby since the mine closed. Tommy (or should I say Mike)- your continued vail attempts to dissuade public progressive discussion on the nation wide asbestos issue in regards to the city of Libby continue to add a lack of credibility to anything you have said in the past and adds incredibility subject ability to anything you would say in the future. Please don't even pass yourself off as a "expert" on the asbestos issues. Being in New Orleans during Katrina does not make you an expert on hurricanes. You have no credibility - just another person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And don't even try to add an air of credibility - you know as well as I you were very lucky to finish high school - I know. And last - if you continue to use alias - please try harder to convince people its not you - try using a space between you words. A grammar and spell checker would be helpful as well. Tommy- This was one part of a multi-part research project from a team of students in Montana, California, and Wyoming. The goal of the team was to outline, regardless of ANY current issues, what would it take (economically) to return Libby to its 1990-ish economic heyday. Some of our team members went to Libby last summer to review such things as infrastructure, medical, economic development, government, etc. While the report decisions are not concluded yet - several things do look encouraging. One of the factors would be if Libby would work on increasing its incoming tourist dollars (both US and Canada) by 23% this would negate much of the current economic disparity. A reachable goal in a few years with the emphasis on "eco -tourism" in most of Montana. Watch for additional info in the next few month.

I do agree,Libby is a awesome place,Libby has endless potential and most of the people are friendly and caring.All the good things Libby gives are the same reasons my family fell in love with in 1966.Until 1999.The mills shut down,mining shut down,grizzle bears and wolves took over as priority to man and the roads off pavement became gated.BUT the issue that is ignored and the reality that exists rather one agrees or not, it's the truth that we all must face if not only for our well being but mainly and most important is the health and safety of all those we leave behind.Our kids.In Libby,no where else,entire generations of families have suffered and died for years.This pain and suffering is a never ending way of life,specially now that we all know why we are sick and dying.We can't turn back time nor can we change what happened to us.But we can not knowingly allow another human being to suffer and die as I and thousands like me when there is a means to stop this deadly exposure.And thats all I do.I inform,warn and protect people from something that does/will/can kill you as it is killing millions today.Libby is a death sentence.No natural death here.I speak to those who listen and those who don't.This is all I can do and of course,argue with some of you,because I can.What has happened to me and Libby I want to stop.Since Libby will not stop killing people,this is what I do.Stop the killings and I have.This has been one hell of a nitemare,for all of us.Your welcome...

Mike - Continue to carry your lone dissenting flag for how bad Libby WAS. The overall consensus is that LIBBY IS BACK.(saw that one on an on-line response to one of your postings). I think I know why you have this displaced dislike for Libby,(in the past I think I may even have something to do with it), but you have to let go,(just advice - knowing you that last statement went right over your head). In 1990 Libby was ground zero for the asbestos crisis. Just like the World Trade Center destruction brought terrorism to our shore, it is being rebuilt, and just like Libby- its rebuilding from this crisis as well.
