You see them almost everywhere: jobless people with homes in foreclosure. And on some of their driveways are Hondas or Toyotas.
Ugh! Jobless people driving foreign, putting even more Americans out of work. Why so? Well, the Japanese have been luring us for years. They give their cars American names. Media promote them! They flood us with ads. The persuader:“I’m cool, Man! I drive a Honda. I follow my neighbors.” But how cool will I be in the unemployment line? As to the familiar quality-scare-sales pitch, check the March ‘09 J.D. Power report: For reliability, Buick tops Lexus; Lincoln & Mercury in top 5. Today, supposed differences between Japanese and American exist only in minds influenced by BIASED media. For 20 years now our media have been touting Japanese and knocking American. Supposedly FOR FREE, our media help sell MILLIONS of Japanese cars. They make it nightmarish for our makers to compete. And because the Big 3 are an enormous factor in our economy, as much as a fifth of it, this costs America JOBS, JOBS, JOBS! But the Japanese say,“We give jobs. We build cars here and hire you to build them.” Big whoopee! They assemble SOME here. Get people to think:“They’re built here, they’re American.” Baloney! They’re still Japanese! And how about this: MOST, yes MOST, Japanese vehicles sold here come from Japan by boat! And what really matters is where profits end up. FACT: every year Japanese parent-corporations in Japan bank BILLIONS from sales in America. Yes, 31% of their income comes from the U.S.A. These billions feed Japan’s economy. We’re Japan’s cash cow! This, despite our almost 50 million people with no health care, 37 million in poverty including 18% of our kids, 77,000 bridges needing restructuring, interstate highways crumbling, city schools deteriorating, and unemployment at 10%+ in many states, 15.2 in Michigan. Considering such bleak facts, we let the Japanese feed on us? Can we build cars in Japan? No! They impose costs that make it financially unworkable. In ‘08 we could sell only 10,000 there. But they sold 3 MILLION in America! And get this: they’ve even refused to buy our apples! In effect, they close their 160 million-people market to us. Square shooters, they’re NOT!!! We let them do this? Yep! They have an incredibly powerful lobby in Washington. Money talks! It’s a type of lobbying that costs America dearly! And BTW, the South Koreans also feed on us. In ‘08 they sold us 800,000 cars but only bought 6,000 of ours. Another bummer: oodles of Big 3 dealers have conflicts; they also sell foreign cars. So, they don't advertise and push:“DRIVE AMERICAN!” If they did, they’d sell lots more American. They’d put thousands back to work. Yes, dealers could really help our economy. Instead, they shortsightedly, add to our woes. Anyway, our “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS,” fueled for 20 years by our media, has finally caught up with us. It has cost our country a million jobs! And if we continue blind to this enormous problem, we could lose up to 4 million. But there’s some good news: With U.S. backing, GM and Chrysler will be stronger. Nevertheless, the Asians are licking their chops hoping our guys fail so they can devour our industry. Shall we continue to help them? NO! NO! Let’s back the new GM and Chrysler, as well as Ford, which on its own is reinventing itself. Lately, Ford has been outselling Toyota. Hopefully, we’re getting wise: CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME, not in Japan or Korea! Yes, support our own economy, not some foreign country’s! DRIVE AMERICAN! "God bless America, land that I love, stand beside her...." P.S. More on quality: in 2006, Toyota was under criminal investigation for hiding safety defects: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2006/07... Please spread word how “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS” shoots our economy in the foot. Pass this on. |
