pg&e outrageous bills!

I am soooooooo fed up with PG&E and there assanine amounts they want you to pay to have electricity. I call over and over and all they say is yeah heating is a neccesity but air conditioning is a luxery so basically you pay our your rear to sit in your house a sweat like a pig while they enjoy the millions we pay them in the air conditioned building I am sure they are enjoying every day. Where else can we get electric here in El Dorado County. El Dorado county wants you to buy in our county, but it's toooooooo expensive!

i agree. they have us by the sacks and they know it. do not hesitate to call them every month to come re-read the meter. i do it regularly since i found a 400.00 mistake on my bill. they insisted it was right but i insisted they come out and guess what? it was wrong. even if its right i want them to work for their money. i call for re-reads just to piss them off. f'ers

I called pg & e when my bill was $800. for 1 month. We had used air for only 5 days. The rep said the base usage was arbitrarily set, so basically, they change the base kw hrs when they want and for different areas. Getting photovoltaic panels will become a necessity. I've heard pg&e will be replacing everyone's meters with new digital ones that track usage based on time of day. In the future when they declare a "brownout", the rate per kilowatt is going to zoom to like a buck per kw hr. AND...the new carbon tax will generate 856 billion in 2 years, primarily to start from utility companies, just like pg&e. The feds will tell pg & e they now owe a few billion in this new "fee" and they WILL pass it on to us. We are going to see our bills probably double in the next 1 to 3 years. VOTE THE INCUMBENT OUT OF OFFICE EVERY ELECTION, AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT, IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO BREAK THE HOLD AND MAKE THEM WORK FOR US!!

I tried to call for a re-read and they told me it was right, they stand by their readers and there is no chance its wrong. They are soooooo full of crap. I HATE them. I'm going to shut off my power and pretend like I'm camping in my house. No wonder this economy sucks, companies like them reaming people up the a**!

time to call the public utility commision and report their asses. they cant deny you the right to a re-read.their readers are human and can make a mistake just as easily as the rest of us.

I think that their rates are very reasonable.I have never had a problem with them and if you think that calling them back for a re-read does anything other than drive up rates for all of us then you are stupid..

never in my life would i have thought i would hear someone actually defending the gas and electric rates. The only thing driving up the rates for everyone is pure and simple greed. look at their profits for prior years. You must hold a high position with them to defend them as you do. I dream of the day when i can live without PG&E. A sweet day it will be to tell them to get bent. I am sick and tired of having to budget my food money just so i can pay an outrageous heat bill to a company that doesnt even keep me warm in the winter. They suck and anybody that disagrees is the stupid one.

You said exactly what I was thinking. He probably decides on the rates to charge us!

For two months in a row now my PG & E bill has been $650. I called yesterday and she only told me to turn the A/C to 78 degrees and unplug everything not in use. I am just livid. This summer is hot, but so is every summer here. The highest bill we've ever had in the past was $400, and this June's bill was $300 something. It is ludicrous and they are a bunch of crooks. My dad's house is a single story, bigger than mine and his bill was only $118 - how can this be??

i believe you stated this before. though it was removed and for good reason. just outright rediculous that anyone would like the rates. and im sure your calling people stupid had something to do with the removal.

I hope your bill is for an apartment COMPLEX! NO ONE has that big a house and can't afford the bill!

My house is 1900 sqft. My bill is never over $100. Maybe because I use FANS and save the a/c for HOT days.

So what exactly are you trying to say? Your house isn't much smaller than mine. Is yours two stories? The upstairs of our house gets extremely hot...I sit up here sweating. On the extra hot days I now keep the thermometer set at 80. I use fans constantly. So I guess you are as perplexed by my bills as I am?

On the other hand, I last received a bill from PG & E in July, promptly paid it in early August, and have heard nothing since. I am unable to evoke a bill from them and have tried several times. What can I do???

it's no better in the winter for heat!!!!! Last year we moved to cameron park in a 30yr old "fixer", only to find our "heat pump" works as efficiently as it did the day it was installed...to the tune of $600 per month.(to FREEZE our butts off)

checked into solar to find yet another scam....
