D.C. touched more lives than anyone knows. As a young adult, I used to envy the girls from my hometown who were allowed to go to the festival or late-night jams.

As an older woman now, I regret not having went there camping last summer as the husband had suggested.

May you play forever in peace.

A great Oklahoman has passed, but he has left a wonderful legacy not just in his music but with his festival as well.
My thoughts and prayers are with Selby and his family today.

Wife, its not too late - D.C. taught us how to keep his legacy alive and we will make sure the festival is here for you when you come. This year we will honor his dream; he deeply wanted his life's work to continue. You're never too old and it's never too late. D.C. taught me that.

On be half of the family,I would like to thank all of you for your kind words. D.C. will live on as long as great "Down Home" blues is being played. I myself will miss him. The last time I saw him perform was last September at the Blues Fest. He sang "Country Road." I was very moved by that song because I was not expecting him to sing knowing what kind of physical condition he was in. I know that he is walking down a country road that is taking him home, but I will miss my grandfather.

Hi Jason .I love that song " Country Road" . I sure wish I had been there to hear DC sing it. Is there anyway to get a copy of the Blues Fest from last year? I am going to miss your grandfather too. I wrote I meet DC years ago , and it really hard to lose a friend you had for so many years.
My thoughts are with you and family.

D.C. was one of the wisest and finest people I've ever known. His influence on Oklahoma, blues fans, young people, musicians and everyone who ever knew him will go on and on.

I hope everyone who loved D.C. will converge around Selby to keep the festival and his memory going for many years to come.

Amen. I played @ the "down Home Blues" club several times; DC allowed my band to represent them in @ Bluestock in Memphis.

Farewell, friend. See you on the other side.

Best of luck Selby!
