G-20 meeting in PA. may require 4,000 officers

Tell me again why this meeting is a good idea?

I'm not sure what this is even about? Does anyone? Does anything really get accomplished?

the 20 top leaders of the world get together and do absolutely nothing. Why Pittsburgh would want to host this is beyond me. It is predicted to cost the city 10 to 20 million dollars to host.They are counting on the Federal and State goverment to reimburse them for the costs.The city will be at a standstill while this is going on. There was a piece on the news about how a guy who has a sandwich shop would have to close for the two days due to security concerns.

I saw this. They have like a mile radius (I know they have a radius set up.. not sure if it is a mile though, this is what I heard) set up around the convention center, which will be a "Protected Zone". In other words, nobody but people who will be attending the summit, and secret service agents/officers will be allowed in this area. The sandwich shop guy is directly across the river from the center.

So - let me see now - We pay taxes, our taxes build these facilities, we pay taxes, our taxes pay for all this security, we pay taxes, our taxes pay for all these politicians, we pay taxes, we pay for the politicians to hold a meeting, we pay taxes, we pay fro the security forces to keep us out of the buildings that we paid for using out tax money and Onarato and Ravenstahl think this is a good thing.

Hmmmmmmmm. And we reelect them? We're crazy.

And of course there will be the usual worldwide group of anarchists vandalizing the city in the name of protest. I wonder if the fact Dan Rooney is so tight w/ Nobama that Pittsburgh was chosen ?

Yep, just sit still boys and girls, the tent is being prepared and the show is about to begin. Rooney, Rendell, Altmire, Onarato, Casey and Specter, remember those names, they're all involved. They own this thing, they're the ones that are spending your tax money, this is their show, they'll blame others if it fails, and take the credit if it works, but one way or another, this is the politicians show. There's no reason to do this in Pittsburgh except to showcase a city that has become totally government dependent, which is their goal.

We still vote though and I hope each and everyone of you remember. They're all replaceable except Rooney, it's hard to replace an ambassador who bought his position without replacing Obama.
