PERSON TO BE HEARD: Gregory Rock voiced his concerns about recreational fire permits. He asked if it might be changed to add limitations. I am a fire bug and love to sit in front of a fire on a nice cool night. To me it is better than T.V. Whose this guy to take away a taxpayers rights? Our rights are so limited in this town already. As long as it is clean cured wood and well respected I see nothing wrong with it. There are limitations already such as needing a permit so the fire department is aware. Also location, size, materials and attendence along with others. He needs to mind his OWN business.

I also enjoy sitting near the fire in the city. The Fire dept. showed up once, they told us we had to put it out until we had a permit.10 Minutes later we had a permit and a wet fire.I believe the reason for the permit is just incase anyone calls and reports it ,they have you on record. It does suck, however running to get a permit everyday, like we do.And I don't think you can call them in.

INSIDE OUT UPSIDE DOWN: I feel bad about your "wet" fire. But at least you found out how the fire department wants it to work. How can anyone complain about a FREE fire permit. I know I can't. I am not sure about calling it in, but I believe that they also want to know a face with the name and a signature. I can't blame them. They are our fire guys. They are the ones that put their lives on the line. And yes, I believe that if someone visit them over and over for a permit, after a while they won't come to visit you for every fire, just time to time to make sure it is all legit. That's their job. I am getting to know those guys down there and they all seem really nice. I say kodus to them.

I am not complaining ,the fire guys are easy to deal with. It's the neighbors who do the calling .

ARCHITORTURE AND HOMEY: I am not sure. I am GUESSING that since they are on a patio they may be exempt. I am not sure again. If no one bothers you, why bother unless you feel better calling the fire department to ask. I do know that if they show up you first you get a warning and have to put it out. The second time the fire department has to come, they will give you a citation. Also you may have nice neighbors that don't care. I don't have a nice neighbor. But that is a good question. Anyone else know?????
