It's wonderful to see Dan's true dedication to these cold cases. Without people like him to pick up where someone else left off, there may not be closure for families or reunification of loved ones. Thank you Dan for the dedication of your time and effort towards these unsolved and sometimes tragic cases. Your persistent and determined attitude will not be forgotten.

Thank you Dan...It is great you have the time and will to keep these cases alive, even in a small way. The Detectives don't have the time to spend on the cold cases. As a Mother of a missing Son in Butte County it warms my heart to hear this. The families can be hopeful just knowing their cases aren't at the bottom of the pile. We long for word of any kind, gives us hope in finding something.. Hope people will give you any info on these cases. So they can get a proper burial if deceased.

I met Sgt. Paris a few times over the years and was always impressed by his manner- he gave the impression that "To Protect and To Serve" was more than a slogan to him but a heartfelt creed that guided his work. I'm pleased, but not at all surprised, that he's still "on the job".

It sure would be nice if people would stop breaking the law in regards to "pot." Then we would not have to waste any resources on dealing with its illegality.

I got in trouble once in my life...in Humboldt County...and Paris was the primary officer. He gave me chance after chance to prove him wrong....DUI....but it didn't happen and I had to go through the process. He was civil to me, made me feel honorable....and managed to "take me in" with no complaints on my part. A true professional in every sense of the word. I wish I could thank him face to face....but I am ashamed for my past indescretions. To you Dan Paris...you keep working your butt off to find these missing folks. WE NEED YOU!!!!/ And I am one proud citizen who you took proper care of.

Some past events won't let any of us rest until they are solved. Thanks Mr. Paris. I'm glad I never got arrested by you, even when you were investigating my neighbors.

Officer Paris sounds like a good officer that takes his oath to serve the public and all of the public seriously. I would love to speak with him regarding the missing persons case for my cousing Robert "Bobby" Tennison who dissappeared in Humboldt County in January 2009. We have gotten nowhere with the investigatio and the officer assigned to the case doesnt seem compaled to figure out what happened to him. I would love the opportunity to review the situation with him. It seems that there are many suspicious dissappearances in the Humboldt area and seems that most of us as family of the missing have experienced the same dissappointing results. I have to wonder what the real problem up there is. Is it the issue of missing people or the fact that law enforcement knows it is going on and turns a blind eye to the problem. i wonder if the rumors of currpt cops and judges is true.

I remember a few years ago (maybe 6 or 7)a person was hiking by the winchuck river in oregon and found a body. young man missing for 3 or 4 years, he had a troubled life and i think was a major drug dealer/user. I felt sad for his father who still lived in del norte/humboldt county.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Gemini

Beware wishful thinking because it will cloud your thoughts and lead to confusion. However, that's much easier said than done, because today you're showing distinct tendencies towards living in a rosy world of your own and ignoring any hard facts that are under your nose. Take care that you don't allow someone to dupe you simply because you aren't paying attention to what they're saying or doing.
