My Dr prescribed Tamiflu to me right away and although it was a really bad respiratory flu I got over it in 10 days.

So let me get this straight. Your article states "which doctors believe was the H1N1 strain". You don’t even know if this guy had the H1N1 flu, yet you still publish the story. Very strange.

Not strange at all, this is what passes for reporting at the Daily Breeze. If they spelled the guy's name right they count it as hard hitting journalism!

from Newsweek Dec 2006-
In a highly unusual move, Sen. Barbara Boxer of California has rescinded an award to an Islamic activist in her home state because of the man’s connections to a major American Muslim organization that recently has been courted by leading political figures and even the FBI.
Boxer’s office confirmed to NEWSWEEK that she has withdrawn a “certificate of accomplishment” to Sacramento activist Basim Elkarra after learning that he serves as an official with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). After directing her staff to look into CAIR, Boxer “expressed concern” about some past statements and actions by the group, as well as assertions by some law enforcement officials that it “gives aid to international terrorist groups,” according to Natalie Ravitz, the senator’s press spokeswoman.
CAIR, which has 32 offices around the country and bills itself as the leading Muslim-American civil- rights group, has never been charged with any crimes, nor have any of its top leaders. But a handful of individuals who have had ties to CAIR in the past have been convicted or deported for financial dealings with Hamas—another reason cited by Boxer for her action. The senator directed her staff to withdraw the certificate—which she routinely gives to community leaders in California—and asked that a statement she had previously made endorsing CAIR be stricken from the group’s Web site, Ravitz said in an e-mail.
Wrong article bud! Back to the topic, any "virus" or Flu-like symptoms should always be taken seriously, yet look at the numbers...this flu has been around for a while now and it said something about only 4000 people have died from H1N1(clearly unfortunate), yet how many people live in this world? BILLIONS? Do the math people, get a grip(and a cup of tea at that), all will be fine!

So glad to see there are others that actually use their brain. I was beginning to wonder. If one were to actually look at all these news articles about the swine flu, you can see how things are carefully worded to tell the truth while spinning it to continue the hysteria. It is very unfortunate that this man got so sick but when will people open their eyes and see that statistically, the numbers don't add up. More people die every year from the regular flu than the swine flu.

Really? I wasn't aware that the government is the actual producer of the flu shot. Thank you for keeping us accurately informed.
The government is COORDINATING the production and distribution of it. And you are welcome. It's difficult to stay informed these days, eh?

Government health officials are mobilizing to launch a massive swine flu vaccination campaign this fall that is unprecedented in its scope -- and in the potential for complications.

Swine flu vaccine: Government grants immunity
August 1, 6:25 PMUS Intelligence
Government grants immunity for swine flu vaccine
(AP Photo/Aman Sharma)Makers of the swine flu vaccine and involved government officials will be immune from any lawsuits arising from the vaccine. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius has signed a document guaranteeing that neither the government nor industry will take responsibility for any damage or death caused by these vaccines, which have had very limited testing and are being produced under rushed circumstances.

Wall Street's Swine Flu Vaccine Score Shows the Perils of Government Healthcare
November 06, 2009 03:01 PM ET
By Mary Kate Cary, Thomas Jefferson Street blog
The blogosphere and the cable news channels are full of outrage at the fact that Wall Street firms such as Goldman Sachs, Citi, and J.P. Morgan have received thousands of doses of H1N1 vaccine, while shortages across New York City have prevented pregnant women and high-risk children from receiving shots first. Believe me, as a parent of a high-risk child who had a heck of a time getting her a shot last week—I think this is outrageous.
But in the midst of all the anger at the bailed-out bankers getting their shots, no one seems to be noticing that the New York City government health authorities are the ones who sent the vaccines to the banks in the first place, after receiving their share of the state's shipment from the publicly-run Centers for Disease Control. Clearly we have a scarce supply of vaccines, with great demand nationally, and that supply is being rationed by the government.
This is what happens when the government has to publicly ration healthcare. This wasn't an insurance company who turned this into a fiasco, or the vaccine manufacturers, or the doctors' offices. This was the government.

So who contacted the media first about this, the hospital for publicity sake, or the family for publicity sake? I know if I was sick the last thing I'd think about is contacting the local newspaper. Balloon boy's father should have gotten the swine flu then he could get free publicity without breaking any laws.

Thank you. I had no idea that GlaxoSmithKline, Baxter and Sanofi-Aventis were government agencies.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Taurus

Friends and partners aren't behaving as you would like today. They're eager to go their own way, much to your annoyance. In order to get round this you're going to have to ask yourself some tricky questions, such as whether you're trying to control everyone's behavior or whether they're being inconsiderate in wanting to do their own thing. It's a Full Moon and a lunar eclipse, so maybe you should all release the tension by making it a super New Year's Eve celebration?
