Sounds like there is doubt that this is even the same people, and who knows how the club has changed in 2 years? Besides, even if they wanted to stop a big girl event from coming now, you just made it impossible with all this exposure! You just made them even more famous, duh.

What is it about Pedro? Torrance gets an Armed Forces Day Parade and Pedro gets Club Moxie and a tribute to a generation of murders.

It's really not a bad place, but I have never seen a more inept area when it comes to sending a positive message. It's almost as if it has a love/hate relationship with itself.

C'mon gang, you are better than this. San Pedro is home to some remarkable chefs, craftsmen, and artists not to mention a lot of decent, hardworking people. That's the message that needs to get out, not the one about a club for plus sized lonely women and a trumped up memorial to victims of violence.

Come on guys. This hack reporting is so one sided. But really, who cares?

Let it be known the activities they describe at the RB Pier could be straight from Pier Plaza in Hermosa were it not for a visible police presence practically 24/7. Yet you still have that kind of behavior.

Why doesn't Hermosa shut down all those bars? Why aren't there more arrests? It's about the money and hurting the frat boys feelings.

Why can't Moxie move to Carson...say at the Club Suave ? That's a much more appropriate clientele. I'd much rather see a club along the lines of Que Sera at La Conga.

That whole article is wrong. I was the former owner of La Conga & there was no problem with underage drinkers. We really did not cater to the very young. Bill Mondragon has not booked all those parties. You can't believe everything someone puts on a website.

Mondragon knows exactly what is going on. Don't tell me he puts $350,000 into "his" new club, then claims he doesn't know who he is sub-leasing it to. Typically, the way it works is that a "club-owner" will "sub-lease" to a "promoter", and the "promoter" will have a "hip-hop" night (usually Fridays) to attract a certain clientel, another "promoter" for "salsa" night (usually Saturdays) to attract a different clientel.....Sundays are usually open to "whatever".

That is the only way the "club-owner" can "recoup" their investment, and turn a profit. As for law enforcement to minimize the problems that occur at these types of clubs.....The City of Los Angeles has been notoriousy week in "convincing" these types of "club-owners" to run a "clean" establishment. They are only inerested in one thing.....making money. They do not care about the community. The City Attorney pretty much will require an "Act of Congress" to close-down a "problem" location.

If the club does become a problem, it will be difficult to root-out, and without a doubt impact the future development efforts of Downtown San Pedro, as well as the sales of the new condo developments in that area.

We will have a disaster on our hands.

On behalf of the San Pedro Community, Thank You Mr. Mondragon.

No need to go to a nightclub for entertainment, we can all just sit back and listen to this hysterical dialogue. Strong racial bias, big girl haters, bullying, nosey neighbors and profesors of business. You are all one big bunch of pompous idiots. Who needs TMZ, People Magazine,or National Enquirer when we can rely on all of YOU to tell us the REAL news. If you werent there, you dont know.(.) I was there, I KNOW that these allegations and fortune tellers are all FALSE and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
the stories are all true, you are a fool to think that the pd calls to service were all bs.It attracted a group of adults who acted like children, you can call it what you want, but it was never racism! The place was a cancer, the city cut it out...now it has popped up in pedro...let lapd deal with it!

shadoe gray lies again should be the title of the article. its not the first time and it won't be the last. she tries to take over every venue that is stupid enough to let her in by forcing her own bar staff and security and making new rules as she goes along. the club itself is a great and wonderful thing and lots of fun, it is just unfortunate that it has to be tied to a person like ms. gray.

Dear U Dont know,

YOU DON'T KNOW.(.) It is so funny to me, that you would talk about what you THINK you KNOW and what you WANT to KNOW. But YOU......DON'T know.
You are judging a group of people and a place from a few years ago (your perception), you don't know a RATS you know what about the group of people that will come to San Pedro. Take a bill already, a great big CURVY pill.
