Aerospace industry answers 2-wheel challenge

This is really stupid. I have nearly hit several bikers - especially in the morning when it is dark and they are riding in the street. It is a good idea on paper, but in praciticality, it is not safe. Until there are bike lanes I'm staying in my car. In a car vs. bike collision, the best one can hope for is second place.

More bike lanes are needed. But still will not be safe from the distracted driver. I used to ride bike to work but no more. I will only ride on a bike path where autos are not allowed. Even on the side streets those guys delivering newspapers will drive right at you then zip around at last minute. You do not know if they see you or not in the morning when it is dark.
