Review: Kroger

RACIST AND UNCARING
Sometimes you are just better off resisting the sale Went to local Redford MI store on Sunday 8/16/09. On the way to the register, I was drawn to the 33% off sale items, picked up some gum - ice pack, basting brush and noodles. I proceeded to the checkout, and the ice pack and noodles rang up for the price marked on them, not at the 33% off. I brought it to the attention of the cashier Tatiana, and told me maybe someone put these items in the wrong spot - I said no, because there were at least 25 of each on the shelves. She called the next level employee for assistance, this employee Piper told me the same thing as Tatiana, the whole time leaning on the register as if by purchases were boring her. She never even went to check the shelves to see what I was speaking about, but did tell me that the price it scanned is the price they have to go by. I asked to speak with a manager, at this point Piper pages a manager and also proceeds to loudly announce to all in earshot, " you are holding up the line" I told Piper not to put this on me, as I am not the person running the store. The customer behind me got very upset with me , and called me some choice names and then packed up what she had on the conveyer belt and went to another line, told them what was going on and suddenly there were even more eyes on me. Let me also go on to say that I was the minority in the store --- Piper also mad a huge display of sending Tatiana on break since this was going to be so long.
The manager Chris did finally come over and told me that there was nothing that she could do, the girl that does the scanning left at 4pm, and that she (manager) was unable to make price changes - again never even went to the area where I had gotten the items to see what I was talking about. I told Chris the manager that Piper had said loudly enough to incite other customers to verbally attack me that,” I was holding up the line” as if I was doing something wrong. Piper started arguing with me and telling the manager that she never made the statement, and to Chris’s credit she did tell Piper to shhh and that I was the customer. I have filed a harassment complaint with this local Kroger – I believe the only reason I was treated in this manner is because I was the minority. I plan to put this on the web wherever I can to get the word out about this racist store.

Obviously your white. My family quit shopping at the South Redford Kroger a couple years ago. We got tired of the very rude attitudes of the cashiers and the care less atmosphere fostered by them. I always noticed that black Americans were always treated kindly and actually acknowledged as being there. My wife was almost mugged in the store and in the parking lot the same trip by different attackers.It's a shame the morons have this giant chip on their shoulders about white repression and slavery. I was born in the 1950s not the 1850s, I have no responsibility for the transgressions of the past. I am not a racist but I am prejudiced about who I associate with. I refuse to be subject to idiot attitudes from anyone. I will never shop at this store again.

Redford is turning into Detroit we all need to picket for better police or move as soon as possible i have been in Redford sence 1985 it will turn into s.w.Detroit at any min on my street all i hear driving down the street is BOOM BOOM thats all i hear all fn' day we need better police!!!!!!!1

I'm not racist, I'm Mexican and white and i hate every one equalliy i don't descriminate.Redford cops suck,seven mile road looks like s&!t the park at vassar and mac arthur looks like crap!this place is turning ghetto..........
