well i have heard alot of different stories. the police are not telling any of us anything which it drives me crazy because casey would have not done that to himself. For anyone that knows casey they knew he was a blessing, he loved to make people laugh that was just him he never liked to see anyone upset he has been like that since he was very young And God Bless His mom she is very sick as well they will soon be reunited in heaven!!!!!!!!!!

That is very sad about Casey. Who is his mom? Just the first name would be great. I will keep her in my thoughts. Did not know Casey but am wondering if maybe I know his mom.

Shooting in Tonkawa Under Investigation

By SHARON ROWEN

News Staff Writer

TONKAWA — The Kay County Sheriff's Department is assisting the Tonkawa Police Department in investigating the shooting death of 24-year-old Casey Cross.

Cross died of a gunshot wound on Tuesday.

The incident, which was reported from 204 South Fifth Street, was reported to the sheriff's department at 7:02 a.m. Friday afternoon, according to undersheriff Steve Kelley. Kelly said Cross suffered a gun shot wound to the head and was taken to Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital where he died at approximately 6:40 p.m. that day.

Kelley said the incident is still under investigation but current evidence suggests the wound was self inflicted.

Three people were arrested at the scene.

Kelley said Jammie Jo Wallace, 18, Matthew Spitzmiller, 31, and Jimmy Hook, 42, are being held on felony charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 2000 feet of a school or park; failure to render aide an injury resulting in death, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Hook is also charged with receiving stolen property and a complaint of second degree murder was added to his list of charges late Friday.

Wallace was released on $25,000 bond Friday.

Spizmiller is being held on a $100,000 bond and Hook is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Kelley said the investigation could lead to more arrests and charges.

Not sure if I know Linda or not but please let her know that she is in my thoughts. I cannot imagine losing my child. It is just not right and the pain for Linda must be unbearable. I hope the truth of it all comes out. When drugs are involved crazy things can happen. You are all in my thoughts.

Tonkawa man dies playing Russian roulette, undersheriff says
Three companions were arrested in connection with the incident, in addition to complaints of drug possession.
BY SHEILA STOGSDILL Oklahoman Published: September 16, 2010

TONKAWA — A Kay County man shot himself in the head during a game of Russian roulette and his friends were arrested, one of whom was accused of failing to render aid because of a delay in notifying police, Kay County Undersheriff Steve Kelley said Wednesday.

Wayne Cross, 24, of Tonkawa, died Friday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Kelley said the shooting occurred between 30 minutes and an hour before police arrived at the residence about 7 a.m.

Jammie Jo Wallace, 18, Matthew Spitzmiller, 31, and Jimmy Hook, 42, along with Cross, made an overnight trip to Oklahoma City where, Kelley said, they purchased methamphetamine.

While cutting up the methamphetamine to sell and also using the drug during the early morning hours, Kelley said, Cross decided to play Russian roulette.

Wallace and Spitzmiller were arrested on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school or park, and conspiracy to commit a felony. Wallace was free on $25,000 bail and Spitzmiller remained in jail Wednesday in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Hook was held on the same complaints as well as one of failure to render aid in an injury resulting in death. He remained in jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.

So... Casey was murdered. My opinion! But i have it on good authority that the police chief, at the time, messed up the case for the officers working it and basically told them to stop working it. Corruption within the department and sloppy police work from two Kay County Sheriff Deputies and the case gets lost in the shuffle and bad people walk. A private investigator could do some good getting that thing going again. It is a cold case but it was a HOMICIDE not a SUICIDE!!! I have a lot of info about this. It's TRUELY sad. Two people from OKC are guilty, a Tonkawa girl, and a Tonkawa man are all guilty!!! Now it just has to be proven.
