IKEA to Open in Brooklyn, N.Y.

I like Ikea and I'll probably get some stuff there but when I've gotten my stuff, I will want it to go away, and it isn't going to. I'm so worried about what it will do to the neighborhood! Will all the cars be driving down Van Brunt? I live on Van Brunt and Dikeman, what will it be like to cross the street to get a coffee and a muffin? Will I have to wait forever to cross the street and will everyone be stopping at Baked for coffee and whatever on their way out of the neighborhood? Lord, I moved here in September to get away from it all, I didn't know about the IKEA until I rode my bike around, there it was in its unmistakable blue and yellow largeness...

I really don't see what everyone is so annoyed about? IKEA is taking a piece of land in of the crappiest part of our neighborhood and making it better. Are we upset that the street walkers and slingers will have too many prying eyes on them when they are trying to conduct their business? I agree the traffic will be a nightmare but no different than driving on the BQE or Ft. Hamilton during rush hour. Air quality in this area has never been great! Get a grip!
