A vicous, intolerant and ignorant vote against something that has genuine medical benefits for many, many Red Bluff residents.

Perhaps Red Bluf will go down in history like Little Rock did? As the least progressive and most intolerant city in the US.

Most of the information below was cut from sb 420

Sb 420 allows communities to adopt more realistic amounts but does not allow them to go below the "floor" amounts 11362.77(c)
(c) Counties and cities may retain or enact medical marijuana guidelines allowing qualified patients or primary caregivers to exceed the state limits set forth in subdivision (a).
Sb420 does not say counties cities may ban exclude reject discard ect they can only set higher limits.
Sb 420 allows reimbursement for a caregiver's material and labor 11362.765(c)

11362.765 (c) A primary caregiver who receives compensation for actual expenses, including reasonable compensation incurred for services provided to an eligible qualified patient or person with an identification card to enable that person to use marijuana under this article, or for payment for out-of-pocket expenses incurred in providing those services, or both, shall not, on the sole basis of that fact, be subject to prosecution or punishment under Section 11359 or 11360.

Good Luck Wooie. Lets pray that you never have to go through that. I agree with you, Legal or not if it helps use it. I have seen what it does for my mother in law and like you she is so tiny and to be able to put a few pounds on and be able to hold food down. So now we get to be criminals for wanting to live as good as a life as possible while enduring severe medical problems. I hope no one goes through what my mother in law and my mother went through. Thank God for the herb that helped them get through it. My mother who was afraid of the law and died at 72 from lung cancer did not get the relief that she could have if given pot. Instead I watched her die in a morphine induced coma over a three week period. No one should have to go through that.

This is a step in the right direction of getting marijuana use controlled just like tobacco and alcohol. If you really want to see what happens to communities that allow unchecked use and/or growth, go visit Pottersville in Mendocino County. I'm not sure why everyone is so upset, it won't and doesn't preclude those who are currently using to stop.

good for the red bluff city council there are to many people using the marijuana laws for pleasure not for pain come on anyone with a few bucks can get a medical card. i've never seen so many 25 yr olds with such severe medical problems. there problem is they want to stay high and not get a good job so they don't have to be accountable for their actions like paying child support. we should regulate the doctors who give them the medical cards and let the people who really need it get it and not suffer because of the ones who use it for pleasure.

They knew how they were going to vote before we even entered the room. They stroked us by letting us speak our minds but in the end it was already decided. The people of Red Bluff and other communities are so hindered by their ignorance it is a wonder that they can even get out of bed. It is just so much easier to listen to lies and propanganda than to think for yourself. The world is addicted to manufactured drugs that are a death sentence. Idiots are what they are for not finding the truth for themselves. Like Mulder used to say " The truth is out there". Let's enforce and put stricter penalties on the people who break in and steal a patient's medicine. They are the ones who should be punished. And by the way who are they, they are kids. Kids who are not being taught by their parents that it is wrong to enter onto someone's property and steal. These parents that are crying out "protect our children". Why don't you teach your children. Thieves, little thieves are sneaking around my neighborhood and trying to get into my backyard and steal my property. If I want to store bars of gold in my backyard and someone comes in and tries to steal them wouldn't they get punished? It is the same difference. But no one talks about that. None of these parents can admit that they don't have any control over their little thieving children. It reminds me of parents who have children that go on a killing spree and they have no idea that their kids were so messed up. They never checked their rooms to find bomb intructions or journals filled with thoughts of death. They say "I had no idea my son was feeling that way". Don't parents question their children's whereabouts or the things they bring into their house that doesn't belong to them. It is your job to raise and instill principles into your children that will enable them to grow up into honest, hard working adults. Are you afraid that you won't be a friend to your kid? You are not supposed to be friends with your kids. You're supposed to be parents. Maybe if they have to go to jail for a year they will think twice about breaking into someone's property and stealing.
It is very lulling when someone reads you a story about something you don't know about. You just sit there and say ah this is nice. I can have my mind made up by someone else. It is so easy to go to the library and look up information about really anything nowadays and read it. Or better yet if you have a computer you could go on the internet and search for different subjects. There is no excuse for ignorance except laziness. And that's no excuse.

Yeah medical marijuana can aid in patients in dire need of lets say appetite increases BUT you can get a prescription for anything! I mean I could go and get one for $200 because I went to the doctor for a headache! This is the problem, it's a cop-out to be able to be a pot head. The medical uses are abused and are corrupt. Yeah go ahead and grow but just remember if your honest you aren't making any extra money... Your only benefit is medically, not financial gain, getting loaded, or having a reason to be socially active with other pot heads. Trust me I know, I smoked for 10 years, yeah it's fun, yeah most all of my old friends are in the whole medical cannabis loop, so yeah I know what goes on. The concept is bunk there needs to be specific regulations before I want it in my town!

Your right! My friends dad is medical and has a brother in law on the force. His cop brother told him two weeks ahead of time that the ban was 100 percent going to pass, they new the way they were going to vote long before the vote. All red bluff officials are a tight group of "good ol boys" that are extremely corupt.

You have to have a legitimate medical history for one or more conditions. You can't get it for a sprained ankle or simply say, "my back hurts." Most people have at least a few years history for their existing condition, and have tried other alternative before resorting to medical marijuana. I understand that it's not for everyone, but it's a safer alternative for those who need it, rather than taking 2w374598 pharmaceuticals. Personally, I would rather be in a room full of stoners than a room full of drunks. Alcohol, is a great 'social lubricant' in moderation, but people abuse it and get hammered, which leads to unnecessary traffic accidents, fuels the fire for fights and causes emotional breakdowns. Marijuana, on the other hand...you're hungry, happy, sleepy. That's pretty much it. No harm, no foul.

I couldn't agree more! If people were decent, informed and if every1 complied with the law,we wouldn't have these issues. MM or not.People have no right to steal no matter what.I am all for mm. I do believe it should be regulated and controlled like any other medicine. However, off hand bans of it by local uninformed paranoid good 'ol boys is an outrage.I work. I have always worked. I have had medical issues that have required any number of pain meds. I assure you all that mm is the best thing ever for relief of my particular medical issues. After years of prescription meds,I can truly and honestly say, mm is not addictive nor can one overdose on it.Give us who benefit from it a break. We are not low lifes or criminals just because we use natural medication.
