the food was ok for school food too. Back then it was more like home cooked food. I used to hang out at the hideout after school.

What someone needs to do is what aman in Kennett MO is doing on Facebook. He has a FB page entitled "Memories of growing up in Dunklin County" that mainly consists of old and new pics of Kennett MO and other towns in Dunklin Co. & the areas surrounding them. That FB page is very interesting. It is positive remarks only & no posters are allowed to post negative comments re any pics posted or any of the posters. He has the "rules" posted at the beginning of the FB page. Thus far, I have not read any negative posts which is refreshing. On Facebook, there could be a page such as this one entitled: " Memories of growing up in Rector, Arkansas, and surrounding area". It would be awesome to see some of the very old photos of Rector posted on FB. There could be photos with a brief history from Rector's beginning to the present & the surrounding area like Knob, Blue Cane, Leonard, Hargraves Corner, Blooming Grove, Mary's Chapel, "the tunnel", "T Hill", etc. That would be very interesting as I have seen reprints of pics of early Rector and surrounding area in the Clay County Democrat newspaper. If you locate that page on FB, it will give insight re the development of a FB page such as I mentioned. I am not from Rector AR but have had much contact with people and places in that area over the years so it would be very interesting to me, but I don't feel that it is appropriate for me to format such a FB page as I'm not a Rectorite. Hope someone does this as I would certainly enjoy the pics & histories & poitive comments.

You're not the only one he gave things to for free, that's probabl;y why he ended up having to close it *lol* I'm a little older than him and remeber it well. His older brother Robert had some kind of 4 wheel drive place next door to it. The Big Apple was one of my favorite places to eat. I also loved Sandy and Jerry's place, it was next to where the book store is now. Connie The Big Apple Had Some of The Best Fried chicken!

Some of my favorite memories are roller skating at the summer roller rink across from Memorial Park and getting ice cream at Haley's dairy creme across from the Methodist church. Also, "making the circle" downtown and then down to the M and M back in the 60's!
