Well, I'm sure nobody's voting against their own types of families, whatever those may be.
However, I'm also equally certain that they'll vote against somebody else's and trumpet about it on Sunday. How delightful. If the founders of the state didn't see fit to put restrictive rules in the Constitution, it's because they didn't intend to. |

This is just a ploy to get the Religious Reich all fired up to get to the polls to vote for John McCain .

Wanna protect marriage? Where's the constitutional amendment to ban divorce?
And to Oh My: Tell me - at what point in your life did you sit down and "Decide" that you were attracted to a person of the opposite sex? You are using the oldest and stupidest argument in the book - "It's a choice." NO IT'S NOT. It's who I am. GOD made me this way, and GOD wants me to be a happy, productive human being. I am - and guess what - I'm GAY! I contribute to society, love my family, am involved in church, pray for the same things everyone else does. And I'm in the minority because I'm gay. The majority should never have the right to vote on issues of the minority. Ever. The founding fathers are rolling over in their graves every time one of these things goes up for a vote. Oh, and the animals argument (the only one you didn't use was the plural marriage line)? Ridiculous. Animals can't make a conscious choice to commit themselves to one person. Marriage = two people who love each other and want to build a life and family together, committing only to each other. This state is so full of rednecks it's disgusting. If this law passes, we'll take our nice income and great neighborly ways someplace else. I'm sure New Jersey would love to have the taxes we pay on our income. Oh, and you can bet that a lot of companies will either pull out of PA or decide not to come here - so there goes the economy, even further down the drain. This constitutional amendment wouldn't just ban gay marriage - but also any type of benefit currently offered to domestic partners. It will also take rights away from straight couples living together. You people who think you are all high and mighty, voting to constitutionalize discrimination are really sad. |

I didnt.. that was my creators intention.. anything that deviates from that norm is a choice.. if you think otherwise.. prove it. Until then logic is in play.. I dont have time to debate nature and what should be.. abnormal acts are choices.. I know if i chose to sodimate an animal that is a choice, and not something I was born with. Homo's are the same way. believe me what you think is lame and tiring. |

if they would make gay marraige all over the place ok. i can beat they would have a much lower deviorce rating. than we have with men and woman.

Are you for real???? I won't address your idiotic animal comment, but to classify gays as making a choice, you are sooooooo wrong. Think about it(if you have a thinking brain) who would choose a lifestyle that faces discrimination, being ridiculed, hated, etc etc. NO ONE would CHOOSE it. |

Bringing religion and "morals" into law is against the Constitution of the US. Your religion is not mine. I'm not forcing my life down your throat - don't shove your religion or morals down mine.

I am glad that you agree that GLBTQ is not a choice, but, by your words, "...that was my creators intention..." Please answer me this, why would an educated, rational, thinking person "choose" to be GLBTQ knowing the hatred, the social stigma and all the other negatives that go along with it? So far not one person has been able to answer this question with any rationality. Your argument is lame, at best. Love is love and, so long as it is between two consenting adults, what is wrong with that? God is about love, not judgement. |
|
Wait, I forgot to say - what YOU think is lame and tiring. It's 2008. Gay people are everywhere, and we aren't all the extreme cases you see on TV. We are normal, thinking, tax-paying, home-owning human beings. I'm so sorry you don't see it that way. People like you just make me SAD.
I bet you're my uncle who used to be the most accepting member of my family. Now that he's a "born-again" he's constantly telling my mom that I'm going to hell. What a nice, Christian thing to say.

I think ya nailed it. |
Thanks. I loved the commercial, which is why I chose the name. The only difference is, I am not a Mr. |

First off, I am straight, but not narrow. That being said, it seems to me that you can bash gays, yet that mind of yours seems to harbor perversions. You are the one that keeps bringing up animals. At least gays are consenting adults, and the majority are in long term loving relationships. They don't have animal fantasies. |
|
I have a problem with "holier than thou" Christians. They certainly don't follow the message of Jesus Christ who taught love, and non-judgment. They base their prejudice on a verse in Leviticus, but don't want to follow the rest of the verses in Lev., and some in Exodus. God loves all His/Her creation, and does not condemn someone to Hell for loving another human being. |
|
Not natural by your definition. How would you feel if one of your children turns out to be gay. It can happen in any family, at any time. Fortunately, people are becoming more educated, but there will always be the narrow minded. Hopefully, soon to be the minority. |
|
Boy, thats real civilized thinking. You don't say which God inspires you. It is certainly not the loving Creator of the masses of humanity. Why do you have to stay hidden under those sheets???? And I do so love the pointed dunce cap heads. So fitting |

No, the CHOICE is yours not to accept what God created. Marriage, a "religious" ceremony? I thought the government was supposed to separate church and state! Hmmmmmmm, looks like a breach of what our forefathers intended. SO far as legal rights, unless a couple joined in a "union" spend a tremendous amount of time and money, they have virtually none of the legal protections that others have. I am not going to waste keyboard time on someone like like you who are so one sided. Spend your own time doing research on the realities of this not on the myths. |
|
Rikki is right. This is not about religious beliefs or morality. It's about legal entities and rights. I could see barring gay unions(marriages) in other countries, where there is a state religion. But America was founded on freedom of religion, with matters of state to be handled separately from matters of religion. Straight couples may opt for a religious wedding or civil wedding. I've seen weddings in the news for dogs! Why shouldn't all citizens(which implies human beings) be entitled to the same rights and priveleges? Why can't there be a religious order of gays? I've always been taught that, in America, all things are possible.

Well, perhaps you should go back to whatever planet you and YOUR creator are from because my creator, in heaven, CREATED me this way...I didn't choose anything. Prove it???? Really?? How about YOU prove you didn't choose to be straight?? Idiotic acts are choices too...like you posting on here. |
