Wednesday, the Reading School Board heard the concerns of fear and violence being perpetrated against cafeteria workers at Reading High School.

Food fights and fights in general occur throughout the school daily between males, between females, between males and females. It is exactly a reflection of the population of the city and its problems.

The adults in the building and city are outnumbered, out-gunned, are not dealing drugs, are not in gangs and do not perpetrate the violence.

For years, the teachers have voiced their concerns, fears and injuries. They have attempted to engage students in academic endeavors even through daily fear and determination. The dedicated and valuable students have succeeded despite the hostile interruptions.

Kudos to the caf workers, the secretaries, the administrators, the school board, the police officers, the superintendent, and especially to the great students and teachers who toil relentlessly to maintain some semblance of normalcy in spite of the challenges they face.

There are extremely intelligent, upstanding and extraordinary students there who deserve the quality education offered by the determined teachers and supervisors.

It is time to rid the City of Reading and its schools of the dangerous and violent perpetrators, gang members, and troublemakers. They daily are stealing the peace, tranquility, and educational time from the valuable human resources - the students. Additionally, they have created a hostile work and academic environment for all students and adults who endeavor to live, learn and work there.

All citizens deserve basic quality of life values regarding safety and education, among others.

Please, continue with your dedication and teamwork that might someday return the city and its schools to an environment of safety, respect and responsiblility.

Gee Whiz!!! Out of control!!! I feel compelled to send them the book of rules to that school and board of education but they probably use it to wipe their butts. No shame! I have lived in three different states and never seen anything like it!
I will write this words to the board of education in Reading, Pa. To the MORONS that this might concern: Please apply the rules accordingly and be more strict with this out of lessons. You should be ashamed of yourselves! Your grade of incompetence has broken record for sure and all of you should be fired. I have no idea why people as incompetent as you and your lazy major have manage to stay for so long in positions you people don't deserve. If you need a book of rules for your students please consult Kentucky, TN and even Florida. How can you deal with the shame you must feel for been so incompetent is beyond my comprehension, although I believe you people have no shame. I'll bet you go to work only for the sake of your paycheck. Morons!!!

Maybe some board members are there to:

Get credit cards
Enjoy a night out
Relish a free catered dinner
Demonstrate power
Sleep around with each other
Protect those sleeping around
Take trips on the taxpayer dime
Exhibit good school leadership and care
Create a political stepping stone
All of the above
Some of the above
None of the above

It's a quandary all the time, eh?
