He paved the road going to his house. Funny how they justified that expense since the only people that live on that road are his family.

Have you considered calling the Attorney General or Mack Lancaster? I can assure you the DA is out to get anyone acting unethically. You can stay anonymous.

Does it matter, "Concerned Citizen"? You're the one who stated this in a forum about the Police Jurors getting ready to give themselves a big, fat raise.

sorry, I thought you were one of my acquaintances because your post sounds like something she would write. To answer your question about the raise. It is not up to me to decide if they need the raise or not. why cause an uproar or problems for the people on police jury?"

Maybe you should change your name to "Unconcerned" or "Disinterested" unless you get more feedback with your name now.

You sure are quick to answer other people's questions for them unless your one of those people on here that have multiple names and try to cause problems. I am not going to lower myself to your level and be ugly to people on this topix website forum. People under this forum want to know what there policy juror have done for them and what they could possible do for them in the future. Not post something from another forum trying to cause a ruckus.

No, you're wrong. It does not say "what they could possibly do for them in the future." And, what you said in another forum was in reference to the Police Jury. So, if your juror has done nothing for some of their constituents, does it sound reasonable they should give themselves a $600 a month raise? Out of our pockets?? Think about that.

One thing more. I was not being ugly to you or anyone else. I do not have multiple names on here. Do you? You accuse me of being ugly to "people" on this topix website forum. Cite an incident, please.

If they give theirself a raise, they might want to figue out who they going to fire to keep it. For the record alot of the time the story is that the police jury is broke and blah blah blah. So now we find out they are going to give themselfs raises. Well does everyone feel like we have been lied to? It just sucks letting people getting away with highway robbery. you talk to older folks around here they talk about how the position of police jury was meant to be sort of a volunteer job with alittle pay. Now its enough to live on.I see all of this money going up the pipe but none coming down. when it rains all the men on the road crews come to the barn and sit around and drink coffee to stay on the clock. what they should do is clock off and come back when the weather is better. Dont sit the blowing hours when you cant work, come back on saturday if its permitably.get 40 even if its on sat and sunday.

You've got a good point, Copperhead! I'll tell you something else. Have you noticed the stuff they're filling in holes with? A little tar and some pea gravel. Lasts long enough for a pick-up to hit it a few times, spray the vehicle behind and crack their windshield and that's it. My police juror has all his kith and kin's driveways paved while other roads look like disks have broken them up. Another juror was so busy running around trying to pave roads for the big farmers he neglected the drainage and several people flooded. They cut out working on Sat. because they had to pay over-time. How's that when, like you said, they don't work when it's too cold or too hot?? The jurors control this, not the hired hands. An old man who used to be a juror told me about the time he gave up his salary to keep the jury afloat. Now it's all about the money and the people get the shaft!!

Since Judy Green left nothing has been done in the Zebedee area. She kept flood drainage under control and roads were paved. Nothing from Scooter Medlin. I hope he isn't as sorry as some of his cronies are.

Yes the jurors took over. People need to realize that those working on the PJ are not gods. Mistakes do happen but promises should not be made if not fulfilled and if they are unaware then nothing will be done. Remember that you have a voice and need to use it. Call and let them know if you have problems; if no action is taken, speak to a higher authority. Someone is bound to hear you.

That's really fascinating, get the facts. There isn't a road in Zebedee that didnt' get, either re-surfaced or patched. It's not my fault, or the men's, that the patching didn't hold. I don't patch, I just give orders. And the grass clipper made continuous rounds throughout district 5, on schedule, trying to keep the ditches clean. This is all routine maintenance in any district, including road patching. I would send work requests in immediately when I saw an area that needed to be patched or if someone called me and apprised me of it. And, as of today at 4:00 P.M. Elliott Colvin was the only person who had not been sworn in on the Jury. So Bubba Moore continues that work until he does. I applied for a grant in Dec. to get the Pipes/Greer Rd. and C.G. Greer road paved and re-surfaced. If any of you in District 5 went lacking, it was because you failed to pick up the phone and call me. Every juror in the Jury depends on their constituents to let them know when they have problems. And, believe it or not, sometimes work requests are ignored due to more important items elsewhere. That is beyond the juror's control. Stay in touch with your juror. Keep on them if it looks like they've forgotten. Don't let your requests slip through a crack and then blame the juror later.

Well if thats the case im calling in the morning to Steve and asking him about the myers and goosehollow rd. If thats all a juror has to do is put in a request for a grant why hasn't these roads been paved. I wish I knew who is at the top of the pile in Rayville over the police jury. They just need to visit out here door to door in Goosehollow. But all we get out here is BS. They are digging the ditches but they still trying to run water uphill. Its just sickening.

I'm going to comment on your post and risk being criticized from here to wherever. First: how to get a grant: They are available to all 9 jurors at the same time. It's up to the juror to turn in the roads that NEED it the most. If the juror doesn't turn them in, they're out of the equation. Ronnie Gilley and I turned in 2 roads in 2010. Pony Greer and White Perch. They were done under the grant. These roads had to meet certain criteria. Mainly enough residents within a mile stretch and a very few (1-10) high income persons. The same grant came up in 2011 and I applied for it using the roads above (C.G. Greer and Pipes/Greer). One is a gravel road and the other is in bad shape. Now, before anyone jumps on me, remember I said they have to meet criteria! I had roads in worse condition, but there weren't enough residents on them. I don't know who, or if, anyone else applied for the grant. Check with your jurors. The Delhi barn is responsible for drainage and roads from the Big Creek bridge on Little Road all the way to the northern Parish line (ie; Goosehollow). They do not have anyone in that barn who can figure out water needs to run south and you need to start from the south - north digging. Nor do they know how to shoot a grade. The Robinson Community has roads from hell and I couldn't do a thing, but maintain patching because we were trying to get money from Denbury (the folks who tore them up the 3rd time) to fix them. The monies from the first 2 pipeline companies were spent before I came on the Jury. These wonderful people (the majority of them) know it wasn't my fault. We have a road and drainage committee. They are supposed to look at roads and drainage in need and report back to the jury. There was not 1 report made on road or drainage in 2011. Now, you can try to get in touch with Althan Smith (the President) and tell him your problems, get in touch with Steve and find out what his problem is, or you can go to a jury meeting and let your voice be heard and published. Good luck.

I'm gonna say I have never asked anything of one of them, so technically I've never been dissatisfied with any of their performances...
